I liked this place at first but these are the things that really killed the place for me.
This place was a sensory nightmare for people like me with autism and sensory issues. So much talking. The card shuffle sound from the pull tabs. The same sentences being said over and over again when selling extra games. I was not expecting to get so overstimulated from playing bingo. I have headphones I bring everywhere with me, so I used them, but it was hard to tune everything else out, and still hear the numbers, so they werent a huge help. I wish there was a way for me to just hear the numbers through my headphones so I don't have to hear everything else. I didn't dock a star for this, because this isn't an issue most people experience, or care about, like I do.
The place is very run down. The signage and stuff still shows Thursdays being a night they play on. They can't even update the signage. The building is run down. The bathrooms are disgusting. There's advertisement of a snack bar but I don't think they use the snack bar. They need a major renovation, or to move. You wouldn't even know the bingo hall was still being used just driving by because it looks like an abandoned building.
When I found out that some people pay hundreds of dollars to play, that really killed it for me. People pay $30 a pack and get 4 packs for themselves! It only takes 1 bingo card to win, but how do you compete with someone who has like 200 bingo cards? That really topped it off for me when I found that out. I think im done going here, it's not as fun anymore. I'm going to go to the local legions and firehouses that don't have the automated computers playing and are more based on luck than how much money you can...
Read moreGreat first time ever playing bingo. The staff was very friendly and so were the other players. Everyone was so helpful in explaining everything to a first time player. The facilities are a little run down but didn't really distract from the game play. The "buy in" is $18-$30 per person which I thought was very reasonable. For that price you get 1-4 automatic bingo consoles and a game pack. The game pack includes about 12 games which I thought was plenty. They have breaks staggered throughout the night. Additional games and "side games" are available for purchase (I didn't really understand it too much so I skipped those games for my first time). Doors open at 6pm, early bird games (Additional cost) starts around 6:50. Regular bingo starts around 730p and lasts until about 10p. The only food offering is pizza for $2 a slice (as of this review) and they offer a few selection of drinks. I noticed other players bringing small coolers, drinks, and snacks with them. I'll definitely be back and will hopefully be bringing more people with me. Go alone or go as a group but remember...
Read moreWill definitely not be going back. Place was very run down and bathroom was dirty. I never did find/see a snack bar area at all. Complex instruction sheet listing all of the games of the night (including specials of all kinds) and, somehow, I still had a few sheets that were never used. Too many games have similar sounding names - solid blue, blue border (and there were several different packets with blue borders ). Caller was very fast, making it tough for first timers there. Tried it, but not intending...
