Our experience with Juneau Whale Tours was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment our cruise ship arrived in port, everything went smoothly. We quickly found the tour reps at the designated location, and despite a major mistake I made in booking the trip, the company went above and beyond to help us resolve it. They truly didn't have to, but their dedication to customer service was impressive.

Once we boarded the boat, which was very comfortable, Captain Ben and Naturalist Carrie provided us with all the necessary information about the rules and what to expect. Little did we know, we were in for an extraordinary adventure!

On our way to see the whales, we saw numerous bald eagles and a few seals. Once we arrive in the area known for the whales, three whales popped up, spouted, and showed us their tails—an incredible sight! But the real highlight was a playful calf breaching repeatedly in the distance. Captain Ben skillfully maneuvered the boat for a closer view, and we watched in awe as the calf breached at least 20 times. It was wild!

We continued our journey, spotting more whales spouting and surfacing. Captain Ben then took us to a spot known for seal sightings, and we saw plenty of them. On our way back, we even spotted a sea otter, which we were told was rare for the area.

Carrie and the deckhand Nate were fantastic at pointing out all the wildlife, ensuring we didn't miss a thing. This trip will forever be etched in our memories. Thank you, Juneau Whale Tours, for an...

We had the absolute best experience from start to finish. Astrid was super informative and friendly when booking and answered all of our questions thoroughly (I booked during the off season so I think she is likely an owner as she was always the one to answer the phone. We had a group of 11 traveling with us and she reserved our spots and allowed everyone to pay separately, which was extremely helpful. Visited at the end of June. Our reservation wasn't until 4pm and it rained all day before we went on the excursion so we were thinking we'd be cold and wet. Shortly before 4, the rain stopped and we couldn't have asked for better weather for our time slot. The boat had seats indoor for everyone and a 360° wrap around deck where we could see the sea life from any point on the boat. Astrid and TJ were our guides for the trip and were full of tons of facts and great information. Astrid was interrupted several times when the whales came around and everyone ran outside to see them but she picked right back up where we left off when we came back inside. We saw numerous humpback calves splashing with their fins and breaching, and a couple of mamas surfaced to reel in the youngsters. We saw a buoy full of harbor seals and even got to see an orca before we headed back in. On the way back we were given the option to be taken back to the cruise dock or dropped downtown. Highly recommend this tour group. 5 star service from start to finish! If we ever go back we would definitely...

Went Whale watching yesterday on the late afternoon cruise (4pm). TJ & Tyler we’re great and knowledgeable. Whale watching can be “ hit or miss”.

The weather wasn’t to bad it was raining pretty good but the swells were not bad, 1-2 feet. There were not many boats out, so as far as spotting whales we were kind of on our own. We did see several humpbacks but not that many. The highlight was we were lucky to see a “full breach (Airplane they call it) by an adult whale. Fully came out of the water twice. It was not right next to the boat, probably about 1/4 mile from our boat.

They provided bus transportation from the visitor center (right under the tram) to the dock and then brought us but all the to the ship. That was a nice touch. The driver gave some history and facts during our 20 min ride out to the dock.

The boat is new seats 20 people, the only caveat is that you must be able to step up into the seat. It is raised but very comfortable (I mention this for elderly people or people with disabilities. There is room to walk around the entire boat for viewing.

If you are coming to Juneau and want yo go whale watching this is the company to book...

Fantastic trip led by AJ and Andrew. Excellent boat comfortable inside and two doors for entering in and out of the wrap around deck which enables everybody on board the chance to be part of the action. We were treated to an amazing display by Sacha and Cha Cha.
