I started off with the steak and cheese firecrackers. They were deep fried and had a nice melted cheese interior with little bits of veggies. Great way to start the dinner!
The steak was simply fabulous. Perfect medium rare all the way through, it had gorgonzola cheese melted on top with balsamic pearls that added a lovely texture as well as a sweet/savory tang. Finishing the steak were some sprouts that brought some freshness and crunch to the table. The sautéed veggies consisted of onions, mushrooms, and drop peppers. A great combination of textures and tastes.
Finally, I tried the deep fried ice cream. Ice cream rolled around in frosted flakes gave it a good crunch while the strawberry topping brought a fruity freshness that helped pierce through the heaviness of the dessert.
I Had a great talk with the owner/chef and I really think they have a great thing going on here. He's very passionate about his operation and it's exactly what a good restaurant needs. Really looking forward to bringing people here and seeing what happens in the future! I wish the best for this place...
