Run. Don’t walk away. Run. Arrived with my wife on 8/8/22 for the worst stomach distress in weeks. She pleaded with the attending ARNP (Leslie) for some tests and something to help her eat as it had been days and she ways losing weight hand over fist. Unfortunately for my wife not only did she receive sub-par medical care, she received NO medical care.
First; When they took her for a CT-scan they didn’t use contrast, for the layman, this helps providers figure out what is wrong as it colors and differentiates internal organs for easier diagnosis. When asked why, they shrugged her off and told her it was unnecessary.
Second; when she asked ARNP Leslie for something to help ease the cramping and aid her in eating he offered carafate. It comes with a lot more side effects than benefits, for my wife. I.e worsening of cramping and vomiting. My wife told the NP this and was told to try it as a liquid. Even though she told the NP she didn’t tolerate it. They also offered her a GI consult in December. Until then? Nothing. Impotent provide at best as ARNP had to telemed with Erie (Hammot) to ask for permission to treat. All my wife asked of ARNP Leslie was to eat.
No one knows what was said during this private conference but it wasn’t good. When ARNP Leslie returned from his telemedicine call with Sabotchick, he told my wife that, that was the end of his care. My wife asked him directly, “you’re not going to help me.” His response, “correct, no help here.”
How is this allowed to happen? How is this considered emergency care? Why would anyone ever return to this place?
The nursing staff was top notch. The intake ladies were excellent and easy to deal with.
Disgusting and disgusted. If this is how the providers treat patients one can only imagine how the lower...

Read morePatient's are not important enough for ANYONE from UPMC Kane to contact when their physician's decide to leave! I've heard that he has left from several different former patients of the same doctor,: not one person was contacted by UPMC, only to find out through the grapevine that he is gone. Why is it so difficult to let us now. Not one word as to my appointment in March, I'm angry at both my doctor and UPMC!!! I will NEVER return to UPMC again. This kind of behavior from so called professionals is uncalled for! UPMC should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this. I'd rather die than have to be a patient of UPMC at this point. If there were someway to file a grievance against you, I would in a heartbeat!!! Such a pathetic joke! That's our healthcare system hard at...
