I would like to preface this by saying the only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because of Nurse Laurel and Dr.Ouyang who were patient, kind, and helpful so thank you to them. Nurse Laurel really seems to care about her job and made us feel like she really cared about what was going on and wanted to help.
I arrived at the hospital with my partner (1/9/23 8:30ish pm) who was having shortness of breath, blurred vision, and could barely stand on her own. I explain this to the front desk lady (brunette, glasses) asking to get someone out here to help & she continues talking to whoever is in front of her and someone doesnāt come out for about 3 minutes. She then asked me for ID/insurance and seemed to be more concerned with paperwork and less concerned with a life at stake. By this point my partner is laying on the floor of the ER, when the nurse arrives (without urgency I may add) she says āI canāt pick her upā. UNBELIEVABLE! No assistance, no wheel chair, nothing. I (the untrained civilian) helped her up and into a room to sit down. She ran a EKG and took BP then sat us in the waiting room with no supervision for 1 hour if not longer before a room became available. Ultimately I thank God it was not something serious, because I would have received inadequate care from people with no sense of urgency. When someone is complaining of shortness of breath and blurred vision I would think it would be a top priority and taken more seriously. The icing on the cake is when I was leaving I asked the front desk lady the name of the nurse who first āhelpedā us and she said āfor a good thing or bad thingā before giving her name (she said Shannon, but the nurse had blonde hair on top and black/dark brown on bottom if that is not her name). Patients are entitled to know the names of people providing them with healthcare services. Next time I will take the risk to make it to any other nearby ER before I choose to go back to this one. These people need to be investigated/keep a close eye on because the next mistake could cost someone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI haven't been to this Hospital in several decades. I was born and raised in Kaufman, but live in Mabank since 2002. My husband had a very very bad accident and was rushed to Kaufman where he was placed in the Trauma unit. Little did I know how severe his injury was, until my son and I arrived. They took my temperature immediately when walking in the door. We all wore our masks there everyone was very attentive and so polite. After doing a little information that they needed at the front desk they allowed me to go back to see him. The doctor spoke with me as well as the nurses and I have to say I was so impressed with their attentiveness with my husband along with me not being able to think straight. They spoke everything in layman's terms where I could understand it and what was going on with my husband they assured me time and time that everything was going to be okay. It's been a long time since I've been at this Hospital but I have to say things have sure changed. High five goes out to the doctor and nurses that took care of my husband, before they had to careflight him out two big presby in Dallas. They did not overwhelm me was so much paperwork or signing like I used to way back in the days. I had two of my children here and the paperwork was overwhelming itself. This time around was so much different! Again I cannot say enough to the doctor and nurses that took care of my husband on the date of September the 5th 2020 if I can remember right it was around 5:20 so whatever doctor or nurse's or whoever reads this I would like to know the name of the doctor that attended him and the nurses that day! They literally saved my husband's life!!! Thank you to our Frontline workers for a job well done! Prayers to all... The Fuller family from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSome were friendly but some were rude. Was all about money...not the patient. Presbyterian...my foot. Doctors are sackless and will not prescribe decent pain medication. I took my wife there a couple days ago and when it was finished, I feel like we just wasted our time. She was in severe pain has never used any type of painkiller before in her life and she is almost 50 years old. The doctors treated her like a drug-addict. I just hope that someday these doctors get to feel the same amount of pain that she has so they can understand what some people are going through. I would give them less than 1 * if I could. When we were walking out, the girl at the front desk was super rude to us. Make the drive to go...
