I am done eating lunch here. I have been here several times and have never had a problem, but things started going downhill six months ago. I just don't understand why it takes almost 40 minutes to get a sandwich with a side salad. Things did look pretty busy back six months ago, but today was not the case. I thought I would give it one more try. So that you know, I am a school teacher. My time is precious, and we have a strict amount of time for lunch. You would think that an hour and a half would be plenty of time to leave and get back. Well, I barely made it. I like buying your desserts at the end also to take home to my family, well not today. I ran out of time, so you lost money because your staff took forever to get food out to people who were eating in-house. And I wasn't the only one who gave up and left. I saw half of your customers leave and never order anything due to the very long wait. The interesting thing that I did notice was that online/phone orders were flying out the kitchen and just sitting on the wall, meanwhile customers who ordered in-house like me sat there for several minutes with no food. So my question is to you, who is more important? The people who are there or your online orders? If you say both, then either hire more people or pick one or the other. A lot of people today were either disappointed or getting angry. Oh, and to add to my complaints, I found a live gnat in my salad. It's depressing to see a good restaurant go downhill, especially when it's hard to find good healthy food, not fried. So I'm writing you this long review hoping that you fix your expediting. I was there from...
Read moreI have copy and pasted my review from the Canton store since there is now a Google location for the store in Kaufman. My review is in regards to Kaufman Latham.
The food was good but they need to hire more cashiers/staff or schedule their staff better.
My mom and I went around 12 and there was only one lady there to take orders. I think she got overwhelmed with how many came in for lunch and messed up our order badly - wrong drink for my mom, I didn't get mine till we were almost done eating and even then she used whole milk instead of oatmilk like I asked, I asked for my panini to have sourdough and it was served with tortilla bread instead.
While we were sitting waiting, we saw some other people behind us going up and having to get things fixed as well.
I just want to clarify, the food was good. Just the service wasn't what I was expecting. ++ Adding on top to recent visits, my father and I came and the lady who took our order made assumptions without asking us for clarification. We asked for Dr.Pepper and she gave us diet, she didn't ask if we were to-go when we wanted to dine in and so our food came in a bag. We asked for pastries and we had to remind her to get them for us.
Again food was good, just service was meh.
Most recent visit (10/4/25) is the kind of service I expect, a different lady from the one before took our order, asked clarifying questions and food was as requested, and asked if we were dine in. I hope to have her next time I come...
Read moreStaff and owner were friendly enough when we were there at the Kaufman location, and the cake tasted fine. But that’s about the best I can say. When I called to order a cake the 1st time, the room was so loud the person answering the phone couldn’t hear me very well. I offered to give my information so she could call me back when they were less hectic, and gave her my information. She did not call back. I took 2 more phone calls to finally get the cake ordered. (We were having an adoption ceremony across the street at the courthouse and wanted to have a special celebration with friends and family afterward.) They agreed to let us have balloons at a table for 10, and to drop the balloons beforehand. The person at the register took the balloons and said they’d have the tables pulled together before we arrived. (Ceremony was at 1:30, so it was not peak hours.) When we walked in, no tables were pulled together, no balloons in sight. I asked numerous times to pay for everything anyone ordered at our table, both when I made arrangements before and while we were there. That was not honored and everyone paid for their own food/bev when they’d go to the counter. (I didn’t realize this until I went to pay.) And the cake looked like the words had been written by someone who rarely wrote anything. It was sloppy and embarrassing. For $55 for a basic sheet cake, and only 3 simple (but very important) words to write, I would have expected much better. Definitely...
