My mother was mistreated by staff on many occasions. During visits to see her, more than twice I found some of her medication on the floor of her suite. My mother had to call 911 because she was left in her chair for upwards of 5-6 hours after pressing her call button dozens of times. Upon police arrival they found a staff member rising from the couch of the locked facility and when questioned about why she hadn't responded to my mom, they were told that she was unaware that my mom apparently had a inoperative call button and was to be checked on every hour. She stated she didn't know this because upon arriving for the start of her shift there was NO STAFF on duty! Apparently the previous employee decided to take off before shift was over leaving 20+ people without supervision or care of any kind in a locked memory care facility and we had no way to know how long they'd been left alone. This place is DANGEROUS! Their staff is not properly trained to work with residents who have high level care needs. I am deeply saddened that they are allowed to operate a facility of this caliber. A report was made to the State and facts and findings confirmed the things they did were unacceptable and they were forced to make corrections. In my opinion they should have lost the right to operate a memory care facility. If you consider this place, please do your homework, interview the staff, AND residents MORE THAN ONCE before you decide to put the life of your loved one in...
Read moreI'm an Engineer and like being prepared for things. That being said it was time to investigate the options available in Assisted Living. Just in case. I visited many in the Fox Valley Area. I had a mental check list of what I would be looking for to best suit my wife and myself. Taking notes at each establishment. We both agreed that The Landings Of Kaukauna would be our best option. We found through our visits to many places that The Landings Of Kaukauna checked all the boxes and I had a lot. Care, Cleanliness, Rooms and Sizing, Friendly Helpful Staff, Comparable Pricing, Informative, Appetizing Meals, How Well The Building Was Maintained, Safety, Equipment Updates, Activities Available etc. to name a few. We felt we would be in very good care surrounded by people that help us to continue to live a quality life. I would highly recommend The Landings Of Kaukauna Assisted Living to anyone who is searching for outstanding requirements to meet their needs in their Golden Years. Thank you to all the Staff, the Facility Director, Kitchen Staff, Maintenance Man, Activities Director and everyone else we came in contact with. We were treated with respect and all our many many questions were answered with professionalism, I must say we were...
Read moreWould not reccomend. Staff turn over is awful. New rounds of employees and management very frequently. Residents are not taken out on off property outings. Meals are subpar at best. Kitchen staff is basically nonexistent, never more than 1 or 2 kitchen staff employed at one time, nursing staff ends up doing most kitchen work. Furniture in the memory care doesnt match, kitchen chairs are broken, and the living room cushions are covered in plastic bags due to them being soiled on all the time. Pictures posted on fb and here by the landings are not accurate, they are heavily edited and the common areas do not look that way. They will lie to you in their benefit. Very greedy monopoly. Shall i continue? Was formally known as American Grand, but still under the same management. They had to change the name to appear new, they burnt too many bridges in the community. Hiring entertainment, and hiring out contractors to do work around the facility, and then not paying them. Meds are not always given out correctly, mom has caught wrong meds mixed in with hers before. Not all staff, but some in particular are rude, and allowed to get away with it. Bad facilty....
