Dollar General — Local services in Kearney

The employees are friendly and helpful. When I was there , I was looking for 3 items, unfortunately they were out of all three. I realize it's the holiday season & it's hard to keep supplies in , but it is the only place on my end of town to get groceries of any kind except for gas station convenience stores. They were out of walnuts, I did not see anywhere where they even carry angel food cake even in the store and the only stove top puddings that they carry are vanilla and chocolate, of which they were out of chocolate. It seems the store is not big enough for all the things that they put in there as the isles are always hard to get around in uncluttered I don't believe this is any part of the staff I believe it's people higher up, they want as much merchandise as they can in there, but the square footage is just not big enough. I myself feel that the prices are a little high on most items and some items are more expensive then at other grocery stores, so you really have to watch and compare. I don’t want to be rude but the cashier that helped me was kinda mean. I’ve seen time and time again other cashiers offer to help with customers baskets when they have a lot of bags and so I had asked if I could set the two down by the register since my hands were full from my bags. She responded ’no return them to the door.’ It wasn’t until the customer behind me noticed my mini panic trying to get my bags placed where I could grab the baskets and the customer behind me offered to take them for me that the cashier grumpily grabbed them and shoved them on the stack. Staff is very helpful however I feel sometimes they need more staff on the floor sequence to help customers find items they're unable to don't get me wrong staff is very friendly and when they have the opportunity to help you they do but unfortunately sometimes there are only two maybe three people working at one time one is Manning the cash register while the other one is stocking shelves trying to help other people! Don't get me wrong I love Dollar General I'm able to find things there that I'm not able to find other stores, and their prices are amazing I just wish there were more stuff on the floor to help me out when I'm looking for...
