I am a corporate pilot who has worked closely with helicopter operations. We live in a rural area in Pennsylvania, somewhat near a busy regional airport. We have had zero problems with air traffic noise into and out of this airport. To be clear, Heliflite Shares does not operate in or out of this airport, but rather airports 30-40 miles from us. They operate AW139 and S76 (both heavy) helicopters. The selection of their VFR altitudes over our area shows a complete disregard for those on the ground and the noise issues that they have created. N36HF and N34HF are the main culprits behind this. We have see them as low as 1200' msl as they pass directly overhead and quite literally rattle our windows. I have spoken with other heavy helicopter operators about this. The consensus is that while legal, helicopters of this weight and category should select higher VFR altitudes if they would like to "fly neighborly".
I had no interest in filing a noise complaint with the FAA, partially because I am a pilot myself and I feel that I should give the company the courtesy to speak with them first, even if they show no courtesy towards their neighbors. I reached out to HeliFlite and a dispatcher answered. He was rather rude and abrupt as he answered the phone, and when I asked to speak with a chief pilot or director of operations, he scoffed and said no, you can't. I explained why I was calling and he simply said "you should just file an FAA complaint".
We are (as well as all of our neighbors) sick of the disrespect and discourteousness this company displays on a daily basis (I have screenshots of their altitudes and tail numbers as well as routes using ForeFlight). It happens almost daily and I am not sure what other...
Read moreAfter reading pilot reviews, I regret having trusted them in the past: Some of the pilot feedback on Glassdoor:
“ They minimize and scoff at the effects of pilot fatigue”
“Not safe. Needs to be brought under control”
“ Pilots are worked ragged. Pushed hard by management and dispatch. No consistency or predictability. Quality of life near nil. The amount of different aircraft configurations makes it pretty much impossible to stay on top of everything and remain safe.”
“ They never have enough pilots and require long days. - Many 12-14 Hr days, with short (10-12 hr) turns”
And from a maintenance tech: “ they will push you to do thing when is not safe . lots of rush pressure”

Read moreWhat would we do if we didn't have private helicopters flying at ridiculously low altitudes at equally ridiculous hours? I thought they'd make a stop at my house in the middle of the night, that's how low they were flying. Completely disregards the quality of life of anyone on the ground and the atrocious noise pollution they've increasingly been contributing to. Don't understand how anyone would even trust flying with them with how fast and low they fly, constantly pushing their pilots and residential areas to...
