I've been to many massage therapists before and everywhere else Iāve gone is much better. The outer lobby is a weird space with uncomfortable and awkward (no arms) chairs. I did see the inner lobby for the first time today & itās much nicer and a bit more what I'd expect from somewhere calling themselves a day spa. Nothing fancy, but at least comfortable seating. Not dark and calming like most spa waiting areas, but comfortable enough.
The first massage (with Luminada) was the worst I've had in my life. She messed up my hair so much I had to brush it for HOURS and she pulled my hair so hard that I had a migraine and pain in my scalp for almost a week. The rest of the massage was okay, but she spent so much time GIVING me a migraine I was miserable. Brittany (next) was good, though she told me I couldn't get my $50 gift card back, it would just be a credit on my account. That seemed okay at the timeā¦
I had some issues with thewebsite booking, and when I called she just said it wasnāt their website and didn't seem too concerned with notifying the people who run it. I was shocked to later learn this woman is the manager (or claims to be). I've been a manager in many places and would always care if a customer was having issues.
Today, I had an appointment with Alyisa. My confirmation email even says "8/7/2019, 3:15 PM, Relaxology - 60 Min (Massage) - Alyisa Zwiebel, Felicite Day Spa" & asked me to click to confirm, which I did. It did NOT tell me that they might randomly change me to the massage therapist who had given me a migraine in the past WITHOUT CALLING TO ASK IF IT WAS OKAY.
At 3:18, Luminada told me she was ready for me. HUH?!? No, I have a confirmation with Alyisa. I talked to front desk lady. She said there was no note that I wanted Alyisa & I was her only appointment, so she told her not to come in & moved me. I said Luminada gave me a migraine last time & this wasnāt ok. She asked if I wanted to try, I said no. At first, it seemed like she wouldn't honor the discount I had for booking this day, but then she said she would. I scheduled an appointment for next week with Alyisa. I suggested that they put a note on their website telling you that you had to make a note that you want that therapist, since even though you make it with a specific therapist they may move you without notification. She told me that she'd explained on the phone it's not their website (while I get that, I'm SURE they can communicate with the people who run it - they book appointments for them), but she didn't care. I tried to show her my confirmation email that said Alyisa and she asked me to stop waving my phone at her & being unreasonable. HUH?!?!? I held my phone steady & made a logical suggestion that she tell those running the website to warn people that they might be moved from one therapist to another WITHOUT being informed (something I've never heard of before). I've been called a few times over the years asked if they could change me from one therapist to the other or to reschedule and had I been called, I would have gladly rescheduled to another day. I've never been moved from one therapist to another without being ASKED. The thought they would do it without even TELLING ME (calling me before I got there OR informing me when I checked in) is nuts. I can't imagine why one would neglect to inform someone that they moved their appointment to another therapist. The woman who claimed to be the manager didn't care AT ALL. I donāt know if sheās a manager, but I know she lied when she said she didn't have a boss.
I contacted the parent company and got a call from the owner of the spas in question. Though she didn't seem to care much about the issue I had with them moving my appointment without ANY notification, "It seems like it's just not a good fit," and her telling me she'd talk to the woman I spoke with didn't sound sincere, she did assure me that I'll get my gift card returned to me, so hopefully that will happen....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen you think of the best massage youāve ever had, itās not the price you paid or the location of the spa or the receptionist that greets you that made it the best everā¦itās your massage therapist. Tetyana Freker is that therapist for me. I followed Tetyana to Felicite Day Spa in Kennedy Township and my muscles are grateful. As always, she provided an outstanding deep tissue massage and the new space has a more welcoming and relaxing esthetic. The attention to detail (from music to lotion) Iāve come to expect from Tetyana remained unchanged. She can quickly pinpoint my problem areas and use just the right amount of pressure to release the tension. Tetyana has a real understanding of how the body works and exactly how to get results. Appointments can be booked online and services are clearly identified including price. Once you create your account, you can see all your appointments in one convenient location. I already booked my next three appointments. You will receive text confirmation/reminders before your appointment as well. Felicite Day Spa also offers Med Spa services and while reading through these reviews, I learned my clinical dermatologist, Dr. Charles Mount, is the Medical Director for the Med Spaā¦a āsmall worldā moment for me. The Spa is spacious and tranquil with easy check-in and ample parking. My only recommendation would be to update the website (Dr. Mount is back at AHN from Pgh Skin and Tetyana needs a bio so clients can find her). I have visited other massage therapists in different locations throughout my life and Tetyanaās skill set is unmatched. I am already looking forward to my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFelicite Day Spa was very cozy feeling and clean when walking in. I booked a couples massage as a Valentine's Day present to my boyfriend and was so excited to have a great massage. I had Luminada, who was very sweet and professional. My only complaint with her is that my hair was extremely oily after the massage, more than any other massage I've ever had. She also did not focus on my legs and feet like we discussed before hand. My boyfriend was booked with Alyisa, but a woman walked in named Bri to be his masseuse. You could tell that she was either new, training, or just brought in for the day because Luminada had to walk her through what to do. She was very unapproachable and did not listen to what my boyfriend said. She did not focus on any areas that he asked. In fact, he told me that she kept "shaking" him instead of massing him. I don't think being "shaken" should cost that much.... It was very disappointing to say the least and I feel that I totally wasted my money that I saved for his V-day present. Bri also never asked how the massage was and left the building without saying goodbye or checking on him after the massage. Would NOT recommend unless you like to paid...
