p.s. - since writing this, they have changed to a no cash policy at the food bar and the locker rooms for lack of a better word stink, they smell bad.
After traveling around the region and seeing what other ice rinks are doing, especially at public universities. I'm sorry to say the Kent State is now just average. It's a shame that the president and administration obviously just don't care about this regional asset,

Read moreNice place and fun to skate. Skating is $8 I think with skate rental included. I highly recommend bringing your own skates if you have any because they rarely (if ever) sharpen the blades. Dull blades make it much harder to skate. Also kind of annoying is that they run the Zamboni halfway through the open skate session and it doesn't really need to be done. It just cuts into the already short open skate and makes the ice too wet and slippery. Restrooms are nice and clean and there's a concession stand for food and drinks. Read moreI've been ice skating at Kent ever since the age of 5 I'm 15 years old now. I have never been to a better ice skating area then Kent. Kent has such nice people and I'm a competitive ice skater and by far Kent has the vary best and vary well trained coaches!!!! If your a parent looking for a safe fun place for your children to learn how to ice skate I can tell you from experience go to Kent!!!!!! Maybe you're a guy or girl looking for a fun place to go with your friends well Kent is definitely the best...
