You may not want my opinion, but you're getting it. Kent local here. I frequented this location when It was Little Ceasers ($7 pretzel pizza), but screw that deal! My partner and I spent $40 and easily got our money worth in flavor. The meat buns, spring rolls, gyoza, and fried shrimp were exemplary. Every bite was delicious. As for the 'Pho' itself, my partner went with the sliced beef, and I went with the a-typical grilled chicken. The proteins were great quality. The grilled chicken reminds me of the chicken at Waffle House, the best. This was my FIRST pho experience to date. Their broth is truly exciting. Almost a slight floral taste from the mint and cilantro. But such a wonder it was. Mind you, we ordered it for pick it. Everything was packed orderly and sensibly. The pho came with a side goody bag of herbs, mung bean sprouts, lime, sliced jalepeno, and I'm assuming house made chili sauce... expect some delicious heat! The dipping sauces were game changers. My only dispute was the noodles for the pho. Not my favorite part. I frequent chipotle, and a double chicken bowl with all the works is under ten bucks. To compare to the Pho King, grilled chicken bowl, to chipotle's, I would say the pho is special, but a little more expensive. I say this for my frugal college friends. We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience, and anticipate ordering again sometime. Looking forward to trying something...
Read moreMy husband and I just moved to the Akron area a few months ago and have been wanting to try this place out. I’m a little disappointed as most of the reviews are very high. We ordered P1 and B1.
Starting with the positives for the pho: great portion size, good amount of meat, noodles were cooked well and not too soggy or hard, and had fresh veggies.
The negatives: the broth lacked any spice flavor. There was a heavy beef broth flavor, but pho needs spices in order to hit the spot and this didn’t.
The bahn mi was very good in flavor, although extremely expensive for the size you got. Typically in New York we would pay $4-$5 for a large one and here we were paying over $8 for a small one the size of a hot dog bun. True bahn mi also has lighter bread and this one was pretty dense. Personally I didn’t mind that though.
Overall I’d come again but not for the pho as the broth was disappointing. Will be trying other dishes though...
Read moreChinese owned Vietnamese restaurant. Server was not pleasant and a bit on the rude side. She was very uncomforting to be around. Food was decent to alright. I'm part Vietnamese and I do not find the Pho and other Vietnamese dishes to be truly authentic. The taste was ok but definitely not what authentic Pho stock is suppose to taste like. Presentation was boring and plain. The soft rolls were not prepared properly like a Vietnamese made one should be. Was a bit disappointed. However, the Chinese influenced dishes were alright to good. Establishment was clean for the most part. What would've made our first time experience here a lot better would be the service. If the service was welcoming and pleasant without poor attitude and rudeness, I would've given another star. We may or may not come back to give this restaurant the benefit...
