Wanee Theater — Local services in Kewanee

One of Kewanee's best kept little secrets, this theater has movies sometimes as soon as they come out, pretty amazing for a small town, the rates are very reasonable here and BYOB night (sorry margarita lovers) that is Bring Your Own Bucket night for popcorn lovers on Tuesday night bring your own container as long as it can sit on your lap and you can see over it was what I last heard were the guidelines, check with the management they may have changed since then. and for fifty cents they will fill that container with plain or buttery popcorn your choice. Wow! ask me where else can you get that kind of deal in a movie theater? Kewanee embrace the real treasure you still have and get out and take your wife, or girl friend or if they get along heck take them both out to a movie and really save on Tuesday nite with BYOB. You can also take the kids but they will want their own popcorn and probably something from the concession,,, but hey at these prices you...

This is a great independently owned small-town movie theatre! In this review I’m not comparing this theatre to the large chains, since it’s hard to compete with some of the offerings and amenities that I enjoy. If I did, this theatre would still get 3 stars.

I haven’t visited this theatre in over 15 years, since I’ve been living out of the area. I recently checked out a movie with my dad a couple of weeks ago. Since then a few things have changed, but a few things have remained the same. What’s changed is that seats have been upgraded in theatre 1. Both theatres have also been upgraded with digital projection and sound. What hasn’t changed is the low prices and friendly service.

If I could give 0 stars I would because this is the worst movie theater I have ever been to. There popcorn cost me more then I paid for the movie and it was nasty. The ceiling above where we were sitting was falling down and it smalls really horrible in the building. The people who work here open the door every 15 minutes and interrupted the movie the sound Quality is horrible you can here everything out in the lobby and in the other Theater room hard to watch a movie with so many interruptions and distractions. And the screen was really dirty looked like it never been cleaned be for Honestly waste of time and money. Plus one of the female workers there had a attitude when I complained not professional...
