Killen Foodland — Local services in Killen

They make the best cakes around! Their chicken salad is made fresh and it's wonderful. Love the pharmacy staff and the prices in the pharmacy. Foodland itself has some good deals but a lot of things are way too pricey like dairy products, especially milk. Be sure to check all expiration dates on any foods purchased. They have a history of having outdated products still on the shelves. Lately this seems to have improved though, and if it continues I'll revise my review. Another mark off (in my opinion) for not being able to count on items you normally shop for continuing to be available. The items kept in stock are discontinued (not by the manufacturer, the store just suddenly stops ordering them, or they become unavailable from the warehouse). This can become quite a hassle when you plan your time, shopping and menu around being able to acquire from Foodland the things you normally buy at Foodland, just to find out they're no longer stocked. With the exception of a few people almost all of the staff are friendly & helpful, especially the manager who will order certain products and items for you if you ask. The Killen Store is an amazingly clean, well stocked grocery store. The selections are far Superior to the smaller Foodland Stores in Elgin Crossroads and Rogersville, that have way to many generic products. I was in this store today and even mentioned it to several employees how awesome their store was. It has a Bakery, Del, Fresh Seafood, and a pharmacy in one location. The employees pointed out that they opted not to carry alcohol in that particular location even though the county is wet. I find that a little odd but it does not take away from the awesome store that is Foodland Killen. The manager and staff deserve to be complimented...

First time here. Giving 3 stars because there was an awesome lady that spoke to me in produce but when I got the the registers the cashier didn’t speak to me in a greeting or any other word towards me. She was busy talking to another cashier that was on the register in front of her that came to her register and also said she wasn’t bagging for her then said she was kidding and bagged my 3 items. 2 lemons and 1 bottle of honey. I stopped here on the way home from work and I normally shop at major retailers so it was not a good experience and as high as groceries are I want to atleast have a decent experience.
