At the time of booking, we were aware of the basement apartment not having air conditioning. Upon our entrance, we were met with a musty/mildewy smell. This smell was accompanied by wafting humidity and dampness. While walking on the large area rug in the dining area, you could feel the moisture trapped in it. In bed that first night, the sheets felt damp to the touch. We woke up every morning feeling dewy and gross. Even our toilet paper was dampened by the moisture in the air. There was no air circulation in the apartment besides a tower fan that did not oscillate. Throughout our stay, we had to move it from room to room to get any air flow and some sense of relief. Additionally due to the dampness, our towels never dried when we hung them up. We had to do a load of laundry after each use to have dry towels. Another of our concerns is that all of our unworn clothes felt damp and have an odor to them. The apartment should have a dehumidifier present at the very least to help combat this issue.
We also lost power due to the storm on night two of our stay. Our hosts never reached out to check if it was restored or if there were any unresolved issues due to the outage. (No flashlights or batteries were readily available)
Finally, we also noticed white crusty spots in the sofa in addition to pet hair when we first arrived (took photos immediately).
Our hosts pride themselves on a 1 hour response time to messages, however, they didn’t reply at all after we voiced our concerns. We were initially excited for our stay at CubsCorner based on their prior reviews, but now we will not be returning to any of Holly &...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I had a horrible car accident with a semi-truck on the road the building is on. The employees were beside our truck in seconds and helped me out in my state of shock. My boyfriend was pinned between the crushed in door and the central counsel of the truck, so an employee swiftly began ripping pieces away to free him. He got him out of the truck and the employees helped us across the street to the office. They let us sit in the warmth, gave us water and helped us with our injuries. An employee handed me a handful of $50s (maybe $400) and a credit card that had dropped onto the road out of our truck during the crash. I dropped it and A SECOND employee collected it for me and helped me put it away safety. Two separate employees had two separate opportunities to steal. The gave us great care until the EMTs arrived. They would have gave us their shirts if we needed them. We thank the employees that were there that day with all our heart for their kindness...
Read moreThis was one of the most peaceful and comfortable places I've ever stayed. The beds, pillows, and comforters were so cozy—it felt like a hotel bed. The house was super private and surrounded by beautiful nature. We even saw a baby bear (from a safe distance), which was such a cool surprise and made the stay feel even more special. The chalet is located directly on a ski slope, which adds a really unique feel even if you're not here to ski. There's also some fun local history tied to the property and area if you're into that kind of thing. Everything we needed was nearby, and the small-town vibe of Plymouth made it even better. There are also some stunning waterfalls and scenic spots within about an hour. This was the perfect place to slow down, meditate, and just feel at peace. Dan and Holly were amazing, thoughtful hosts. We're super grateful for the experience-Vermont felt like a dream, and this place made it even...
