Base Camp — Local services in Killington

The costumer service was good, the owner actually took the bikes to Killington Bike Park for us. However the reason I give 1 star because the quality of bikes tune/set up and servicing were poor. I don't see the concerns on the safety of the riders here, but more concerned about if we were going to damage the bikes. I also didn't get the bike that I was requested/booked for and the set up for the suspension was not so great it was way too hard/stiff!, the bikes were supposed to be full suspension but it felt like a 100% hardtail when we were riding them. I have never rode a quality full suspension bike that hard. My buddies and I were not happy with the quality of bike tuning and set up, the screw on the dropper post adjustment was loose and felt out, and the whole time I was riding with that dropper post...

Stopped here while hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2016. Owner was helpful with fulfilling the warranty for darn tough socks, which although nothing special, is the only reason this place gets two stars. I needed new shoes so per the owners advisement I tried Dynafit. The guy was honestly obsessed with this brand. Well my laces on these "top of the line" shoes broke within 5 miles. I called when I had service and since he didn't have any to exchange he said he would attempt to contact the company. As my other shoes were in the dumpster and I didn't want to backtrack I just kept hiking and never heard from him again. WORST retail experience I had on the entire trail. It's okay to be a brand fanboy but stand behind what you sling, especially if someone is going to be using them all...

Base Camp has come to the rescue for us quite a few times. We needed a repair for a set of skies that were older -- not only did they source the necessary and discontinued item but they fixed up the skies to be like new with a great turn-around time. We also needed a couple of last-minute rentals and they were able to help us out with freshly waxed skies. Also purchased some great ski boots here, too. Service is friendly and super nice. 10/10 recommend Base Camp especially to anyone traveling to the Killington area or on the way to Sugarbush resort as a place to get rentals,...
