Horrible customer service. On 06/14/21 I spent $80.39 on a few extraordinarily overpriced sandwiches and deli items, as well as $15.99 on FOUR cans of Lush beer (presumably locally brewed, as the labels started coming off as soon as I put them in fridge). I live 98% of the time in an RV, and I have been on a tour of the country for approximately 20 months (see AttorneyOnFIRE on Instagram). So I am usually driving hundreds of miles a day, numerous days a week, and am generally very far from stores I patronize within hours of a purchase.
In any event, two days after purchasing this supremely overpriced store bought beer, I opened my mini refrigerator in my camper to find two of the just purchased cans of beers leaking all over the place due to no fault whatsoever of my own.
I was already annoyed by the labels coming off and the high price (but I can’t really blame them for the high price, as I’m sure it was posted somewhere - though I didn’t see it until much later), and naturally the beer “explosion” greatly frustrated me.
Normally - for a $8 six pack or the like - I certainly would not have spent my valuable time making a fuss about the matter and would have just taken the loss. But for $4 per can, I decided to contact the store - for what I presumed would be a very easy conversation with a view towards a refund for at least half the beer cost. I still have my receipt for the credit card purchase.
The woman (general manager) could not have been less helpful, more difficult or more alienating. She immediately got defensive, stated (alleged) that it was impossible to give any kind of credit or refund by phone and insisted that I would have to bring the beer cans (now damaged and empty) hundreds of miles back to the store in order to even have a chance at remuneration. She then even has the audacity to blame the manufacturer/brewer and to say that I would have to take the entire matter up with it!!
After I explained the basics of consumer law to her - noting that I was an attorney and expert of consumer protection and credit/banking law - she expressed doubt at my claim, disbelief that I was indeed an attorney and said she was going to research my credentials!!
I then gave her my law firm’s website address and stated that she was giving me no option but to dispute a portion of the charge with my credit card bank. That irritated her to the point that she then hung up on me.
Suffice it to say that I would avoid doing business with this overpriced and poor service outfit. Not only are the prices of almost everything unreasonably high (eg $9 small sandwiches and $16 four packs of nothing special beer), but the customer non service is worse than terrible.

Read moreLast weekend my sister, her partner and cousin went into this store for a 12 pack for my mother who had been celebrating her bday. Upon getting to the counter my sisters partner did not have her ID and one of the male employees refused to sell it, as he should have. I had gone in separately hoping to get a12 pack and the male employee seemed to have followed me and stop me even before getting to the counter and told me I couldn't buy it. We went back to the house to get my sisters partners ID and upon entering the store one of the females employees at the desk notified the male employee that we were back and I explained to her that my sisters partner had her ID. However the male employee came from behind the counter walking right behind us rudely telling us he had already said no as if she wasn't of the age. We were not children to be spoken down to in the matter that he spoke. I responded back that she had her ID and he had a stunned face. Upon getting to the counter he checked my sisters ID (From Ma) mine (from Nh) and my sisters partner from texas. When he got to the texas one he was still questioning it asking to verify the address on the license. The female employee at the counter remarked that they had to check IDs which we were fine with but the manner in which he spoke and acted made it seems as if he racially profiled us and automatically thought We were up to no good upon entering the store. On top of speaking down to us as if we were children when we were of the age to buy and...
Read more"I can't give you that information" ... that's what the lady at the counter rudely said when I asked where I could find public restrooms. They don't supply them at this location. Which, is the 1st place you come by in quite a while from traveling south from route 100 or west from route 4. 1st of all, you serve hot food in the deli which requires you to supply a restroom. Oh, those nasty, outhouses in the back might get you out of that. But why be rude to travelers? Or anyone for that matter. Are bathroom locations top secret? I was going to get gas while I was there as well after buying some over priced items in the store but after such rudeness, I continued into Rutland and got gas there.. and a clean restroom. I am a traveler, and I pass thru here every so often. That was the 1st and last time I stop at...
