This Market is wonderful! There's a variety of great stuff here - Watts Bar tees, fresh baked goods, handmade crafts like beautiful birdhouses and quilts, fresh eggs, organic meat... the list goes on. Everyone is friendly and helpful. And the view of the lake is amazing! We bought one of the bird houses last year and have had birds in them that have had babies both years. We bought a bunch of freeze dried candies and pickles from a vendor there - stop by and she'll let you try some of her goodies (see pics ) they are sooo good - and addictive!

I love our new farmers market, I'm so sorry it's in its last week for this year, and I hope to see it grow next year. I've enjoyed starting the morning with a coffee and chatting (appropriately distanced) with friends, then shopping for locally grown and made kiwi preserves and turnovers, locally raised chicken and lamb, every kind of fresh veggie, blueberries, pears, fresh eggs from yard-raised chickens, gorgeous alpaca yarn for a friend's birthday, clever greeting cards by a local artist, delicious pastries, scones, chocolate-chip pecan banana bread -- a little bit of everything. Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard to make this happen, and thanks to all of the vendors so willing to share their bounty. Can't wait...

My dad was selling potatoes there this morning when the lady that runs things told him to either raise his price or leave. He had his home grown potatoes priced at $1 lb. This is the same price that the local grocery store sells them for. She insisted that he price his 1lb cup for $5. My dad loves growing produce and tries to keep the cost low to help out people in his community. I can’t believe that an open farmers marked would dictate the price on the items you sell there. She tried to do this discreetly so the roaming consumer couldn’t hear her telling my dad to leave for selling the potatoes that he himself grew too cheap....

I consider the Kingston Farmers Market, which debuted this year, to be a success. I have gone every week and haven't been disappointed. The folks of this area must support the market for it to continue and grow. I've lived in Kingston since 1976 and have hoped for a farmers market. We have one now. Let's get behind these hardworking friends and neighbors in our community so they will be encouraged to come back next year. Good, fresh produce at very reasonable prices along with well-made and creative crafts by local artisans (also well priced)--who could ask for more, other than more...
