Staff was nice. Experience with owner our last time we went was very different. We went into the store to purchase some more furniture for our home in Currituck, as we have many times over the past 20 years (we have owned our home for 35 years). When we were checking out and discussing the deliver of the new items, we asked them if they could possibly move an old table that we purchased from them 3 years prior. They said they would ask the owner. When the owner called us, he said that he looked up our old invoice for the delivery of the table we told him we purchased 3 years prior and he said that they forgot to charge our card (that we provided them when we checked out at the store 3 years ago). He then requested immediate payment. We said that we wanted to check our records to be sure. When the staff came to deliver the table, they said the owner told them specifically not to move the old table and then he proceeded to hire a lawyer to try to collect payment and told him that he could get 50% of whatever he collected and even updated the invoice to a present date since the statute of limitations had passed.

Otherwise, store is fine. Needless to say, he lost a repeat customer. Whether or not we paid for it, the way the owner approached the situation is not the way to earn...

I spent 25 minutes there asking questions and receiving good answers. When we are in town next time we will schedule them to come out and measure for new curtains, rods and plantation shutters. All my questions were answered with no pressure to buy. In fact I left there with those little traverse slide things that Karl gave me to keep the curtains up until they can be replaced. I can't speak to the prices compared to others. They gave me a paper with prices and breakdowns. Service often wins out over price...

Working with designer Lori Gowen has been a pleasure. Though we live out of town, Lori ensured that deliveries were managed, chose beautiful furniture and accessories, sent regular updates, and kept us within budget for our vacation rental home. Bonus was that each weekend we came back to work on our house, we were delighted to find different pieces delivered, furnishing switched around to improve the decor.
