We entered this store today and it was a HORRIBLE experience. My wife, mother in law, kids (9, 7, 5 year old twins), and I went into this store to get our eldest a sweater she saw at a sister store. Upon entering my three youngest started looking at the toys which I addressed, nothing was broken or displaced. The twins then started playing in between the clothes which is when the owner came over and asked them to stop, no issues at all with that we agree they needed to stop. However, soon thereafter my wife was preparing to try on some clothing when the owner appeared again asking her if we had dropped some liquid on their carpet making some big stains. We didn't enter the store with any food or liquids. She assured him we did not. He then had one of his employees follow me around at which time I had enough and exited the store with my sons. The girls were in the dressing room with my wife. The same employee following me then placed herself outside of the dressing room never offering to help, clearly placed there to watch my wife in the event she cared to steal their items. After PAYING $115 for the shirts she actually liked my wife walked out equally as bothered. I don't know why this owner took the approach he did and I definitely don't care to get into prejudices given I'm Latin and my wife White. I do challenge him to review his cameras and find where we wet his carpet and remotely tried to stash his precious items. We are hard working people, we have no interest in stealing a thing! If you have small children or the owner approaches you once best leave because he's got his eyes on on you and the same may happen to you. I've got some of the interaction on tape if you dare...
Read morelike the store we were there on vacation. we actually spent a fortune in there twice during that week. but 2nd visit I was aggravated. let me explain I have a lot of tattoos. twice I had 2 older ladies stare at me keep watching me. asked if I needed help I said no. she keep watching me. 1 minutes later another one came up stood next to me watching me for about minute or so than asked me needed anything. I felt like they were judging me because of tattoos. I noticed they all kept watching me closely and the store was packed but they were focused on me. trust me you just know. that day I spent over 100.00 so no wasnt going to steal anything because I'm covered in tattoos. my boyfriend bought stuff separately that was 50.00 few days before i spent over 80.00 so yeah I can afford things. they have nice selection. was disappointed that long sleeve shirt i wanted last one in size I wanted and wanted this particular shirt had stain on it. was a noticeable stain too. feel maybe the employees shouldn't judge a book...
Read moreThis is a really nice shop on the main highway. They have an excellent selection of high quality clothes and a nice atmosphere. Loved the mens shoes and they have tons of nice women’s sweatshirts and other apparel. Staff were super friendly and the store was very clean and tidy. We got a few nice things and went back twice! They have 4 locations, but I think this one is the largest. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
I will say that it’s uncomfortable when the staff asks two grown adults without kids (and no one else in the store) to leave beverages outside or at the counter. We’re not children and this isn’t an art gallery. It felt unnecessary, but many stores in the Outer Banks don’t allow beverages in store.
Ultimately, I respect store policy and the staff were as nice as they could be about it, but signage on this topic could be more clear if its going to be enforced, because we obviously missed it.
The store and staff still deserve 5 stars, but just a heads up for anyone...
