I was on an extended RV trip and needed to spend some time near Kremmling, Colorado to do some scouting for my DIY elk hunt near there in October. We weren’t able to book this trip in advance because my female partner is recovering from breast cancer and was having a tough time tolerating some of the prescribed post-surgery and radiation medications and we thought we might have to return home much sooner than planned. I checked several RV parks in the area and most were completely full and the only other one with a vacancy was priced double what we look to pay. Red Mountain RV Park had space for us Tuesday through Saturday and we jumped on that. Upon arrival our check-in was very friendly. We unhitched our toad and we followed the owner’s son to our assigned site. It was a gravel pull-through and he helped us get properly positioned in the site. The site was level and all utilities were properly placed and functioned properly. The only vacancy they had was full hookups, but only 30 amps, but the power handled both of our AC units as long as we didn’t try to run the microwave at the same time. ||They have WiFi, but it wasn’t enough for streaming Netflix at our first site, but it was fine at the 50 amp site we later moved to. They have what seems to be a modern WiFi distribution network, but it is always challenging to provide great WiFi to every site, especially in remote locations.||After the first day of 80 degree high and 40 degree lows, we were in love with the location. We leave the 107 degree Texas heat far behind during our extended summer RV trip. I approached Jesse, the owner, about staying longer and he went to work on making that happen. He juggled some things around and found a 50-amp full hookup site for us through the next Thursday, except for Saturday night. He did recommend a nearby boondocking site for Saturday night and that worked out just fine.||It seems that they have a bunch of long-term residents, but their spaces were kept neat. All of our dealing with Jesse, his wife and his son were very friendly and accommodating. I recommend Red Mountain RV...

Read moreBooked our campsites back in February, was told that all 3 campers can be next to each other, no problem. Come check in time, a different lady said nope, can't guarantee what sites you'll get. Had no regard that 2 family members have disabilities and we need to be next to each other. 2 rows away from each other. Horse shoe pits was a pile of sand, no horseshoes, next to boats....in fact one boat was parked on top of one. Dead birds everywhere. Lots of full time RVs parked there, very tacky. The circus was in town and right next to the campground. Lots of horse poop and flies. NO fire pits anywhere. They only way to have a fire is if you bring your own. They do not spray for mosquitoes so they were very bad. Can't walk your dogs anywhere except the gravel, so not very dog friendly at all. We will NOT camp back at...
