Ahr's Flower Shop — Local services in La Coste

I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. I booked my wedding through Hoffman Ranch in Castroville and their recommended floral vendor was Ahr’s Flower Shop in La Coste, Texas.

Unfortunately, communication with the florist was very difficult from the beginning. I often had to send multiple emails before receiving a response, and in several cases, I had to resend the same messages because it seemed my inspiration photos and notes weren’t coming through. This was especially frustrating when it came to the design of my welcome sign and seating chart. I reached out several times to see progress or get a preview, but I wasn’t shown anything until the sign was already completed; leaving no real opportunity for input or revisions.

On the day of the wedding, several floral details were incorrect or inconsistent. My bridesmaids’ bouquets didn’t match my bridal bouquet nor the table arrangements. The overall color palette and style we discussed wasn’t consistent which was really disappointing given how much time I spent providing inspiration photos and confirming details.

When I called the florist about these issues, I was told that Veronica (the person I had been working with throughout the planning process) was out for surgery. While I completely understand that emergencies happen, it would have been very helpful to know ahead of time or have another point of contact in place. Unfortunately, many of the day-of mistakes seemed to result from this lack of communication.

One of the most disappointing issues was my flower girl’s floral crown. It was far too large for a two-year-old. Someone from the Ahr’s team came to “fix” it and simply cut it in half, which didn’t actually help. We ended up taking it apart ourselves and pinning small pieces of the flowers into her hair which felt like a waste of money and not the professional solution we expected.

Overall, I was very disappointed in both the communication and execution. I expected more organization, attention to detail, and professionalism from a recommended vendor for such an important day. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for...

Ahr's flower's saved the day! Centerpiece flowers were part of the "all inclusive" package of the venue that I booked. The original florist they were contracted with completely ghosted us after our initial consult in January. The venue then put us in contact with Ahr's Flower Shop and the experience was night and day! After our initial consult I love that she sent us a portal where I could see what flowers she had envisioned using for our wedding. She also included the additional add-ons that weren't included in the venues package that we could remove if we weren't comfortable with the price. But I felt like her prices were more than reasonable. I felt like I could put total faith and confidence in her and she brought everything I wanted to life! We used Ahr’s for our wedding flowers back in April, and I truly couldn’t have imagined my vision coming together any better. Planning a wedding from Colorado meant everything was done via phone and email, but that didn’t stop the process from being smooth and collaborative. She was incredibly patient, revising the proposal multiple times until it was just right and captured exactly what I had in mind.

The flower collage she created in the proposal was beautiful—and seeing it come to life on our wedding day was truly magical. I had guests and friends/family saying how beautiful my bouquet was even from photos I had shown them .
