Hobby Habit — Local services in La Grande

The former owner was a terrific guy and understood that excellent customer service is the lifeblood of any local small business. The new owner doesn't seem to share that philosophy and it's unfortunate. BUYER BEWARE! Do not purchase anything in this store if being able to return it for store credit or exchanging it may become important to you. You know, like if the product is shoddy and breaks in a matter of hours. Since the product has literally been sitting on their shelf for years, manufactured by a company that has since gone bankrupt, they'll feel no obligation to stand behind it. Expect to be subjected to unprofessional behavior if you press them to make things right. Because doing the right thing by the 14 year-old kid that literally spent every penny of his birthday money in this store is apparently entirely too...

They are friendly enough and the prices for most things are competitive. But theres one particular employee who just hates their dice jar. Its supposed to be 50-75cents per die. Cute and fun. Except they like to order large batches of the same die then throw them in the jar and this one guy will charge you for a set price if you get multiples of them. Which is obviously false advertising as you're buying individual dice from a jar you pick out one by one, not the sets. He has done it to me twice now and i didn't even buy enough dice to have a full matched set either time. Very disappointed with this business practice. This is the only store like it for like 50miles. They do not need to rip their customers off...

Great staff, great prices, and a great experience. This is easily my favorite store in La Grande, and a better game/hobby store than what you'll find in cities, even.

The workers are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and have a great deal of patience.

The selection is high-tier and pretty vast, with board games, models, tabletop games, art supplies, and more, the likelihood that you're going to find what you're looking for is incredibly high.

And with new stock coming in all the time, I often find myself just coming in to browse at least once a week.

All around, wonderful...
