I’m a disabled LEO veteran that has had thirty three surgical procedures from being shot, stabbed and run over by a vehicle while serving. I’m shocked and sickened at how poorly my daughter and myself have been treated on a consistent basis while shopping at Millers. We are in the process of developing a property in Cove and used Millers to supply the materials for our work shed and shop. We had to make multiple trips back and forth to exchange unusable wood that was warped, chipped or knotted. The guys in the back that load the wood don’t care what they give you and are told to NOT let the customer find his own pieces of wood. The guys that work in the materials ordering area were very rude, every time. I watched one of them belittle a woman that didn’t know exactly what she wanted since she’s not a contractor and then turn around and treat a contractor kindly and with respect. I guess only contractors are treated decently here. When you ask someone a question its because you need an answer to something you don’t know and nobody should be treated like this. I was in hope that my daughter would have a place to pick up building supplies and tools where she would be treated decently and with some kind of respect, but I was wrong. Yesterday they shorted us 5 rolls of tar paper. After we pick up the paper this morning we will be heading to either Tri Cities or Lowe’s to do our buisiness. The only way Millers has stayed in buisiness is they are the only place in town. Fortunately I don’t mind the two hour drive north to get good service, better quality lumber and some respect as a paying customer. As a result of all the surgeries I have had, my daughter and I have to wear a surgical masks during winter to protect my failing immune system. We have been mocked, made fun of and talked about by the employees at Millers for wearing the masks in the store. Is this how you treat disabled veterans or people in general? Millers management and employees should be ashamed. Don’t waste your time or hard earned money here, Millers will not appreciate your buisiness. I hope some day someone brings a decent lumber yard to town, we need one badly. We are very disappointed,...
Read moreThe transaction I had with this store was the worst I have ever experienced. I bought six solid core doors in April 2017. Within a few weeks, four of them had huge splits and needed to be replaced. Fast forward to May 2018 and it is still not resolved. Each interaction took months to occur, with Miller's blaming the door company (Orepac) but not following up with them. Eventually, the split doors got sent back, only to be replaced with doors stained the wrong color and another defective door. I eventually asked for raw doors to stain myself and a reimbursement of what I would now need to pay my contractor to stain and rehang the doors. Miller's supposedly agreed to split the cost of this ($250) with Orepac, but only after I reminded them that my contract was with them and they needed to honor it and work it out with Orepac without me being in the middle. I was told a month ago the check was coming, and again last week. I still don't have it. And, a year later, after spending a considerable amount of money to build closets, I still don't have doors on them. I would go anywhere rather than do business with these people again. They don't honor their contracts and clearly don't care about customers being satisfied. We'll see how long it takes for me to get that...
Read moreFirst visit to the new store. Found 1 expensive item I needed. I explained that I had several other pricey tools I planned to purchase for a project. I showed prices from several other stores for just the 1 expensive item and asked if they could match that price or if they could do any discount on price. The rude response was NO! Absolutely not! And then the fat bald man turned away and began working on his computer. Sources tell me he may have been the owner but uncertain. My requested discount would have totaled 5% after purchasing everything on my list. I could have respected them being unable to offer a discount but the horrible disregard for customer service was a deal breaker! Was my first visit and my last!! Apparently the new store is making plenty of $$ and doesn't need local business. I've since taken my business elsewhere and found a store that exceeded my expectations. There are great local businesses that appreciate their customers. Millers...
