This was outrageous. I was checking out with my groceries, and i had left my debit card at home. But i had my checkbook. I was told there was no problem, that HEB accepts checks. So, i wrote a check for my $200 purchase. It was declined. As i have several thousand in the bank, and i have never written a bad check in my history with the bank. I was told i could go home for my debit card, or leave my groceries. It was embarrassing and infuriating. They use CERTEGY to determine if my check is good. OMG. I was able to call the bank and transfer money to transfer funds to a friend's account and pay with their card. Then i tried to cll CERTEGY. Hahaha. A joke. Ten minutes on the phone with their automated system and i still couldn't get to an agent on the phone or order a report of why my check was refused. FYI - DON'T go to HEB with only a checkbook. I hate this place I have been there 4 time and 3 times I have came home with stuff that has been expired not like a few days or a few weeks old like months to one year old .. the first time I got almond milk and it was 4 months old the 2nd time I bought yogurt that was 1 year old and just today I bought chocolate milk that’s was 7 months old and raspberries that’s have mold at the bottom... plz check the dates if y’all go there for groceries the workers are not doing their job and that’s sad and I could not take it back because I leave 45 minuets away and I don’t want to waste money on gas just to go exchange the items ... hate that place worst HEB I have ever been to will never...
