Golden Chick — Restaurant in La Grange

We wanted fried chicken. Only place left in La Grange gog our vote. I approached the cashier and asked if the menu was al-a-cart. She asked me what that meant. I explained it was each item separately and she said yes. there was another employee I later learned was the manager listening so as to fill the order. I ordered 6 tenders, 3 mashed potatoes w/gravy and I said three of your crispy chicken wings. She asked if I wanted spicy and I said no please nothing spicy. I was getting napkins and ketchup when I saw the manager sprinkle something in someone's bag. ( It was mine) I got back to work and passed out the order. 6 tenders, hot and fresh. Two potato's and gravy. The third was gravy only. My crispy wings were wing parts with a red powder sprinkled all over them. I took the gravy and wing parts back. (A 4 mile round trip.) The manager told me it was my fault because they had a special for 3 spicy hot wings and I ordered 3 wings. I didn't know if the special but can understand the confusion.she told me I had to pay for my correct order. This upset me and I said for your mistake I have to drive an additional 4 miles and pay for it to? She said that's golden chicks policy. I noticed her reach way over to the right for the wings and asked if they were fresh. she said yes they just came out. When I get the order back to work lunch is over, I'm late and when I open the box the wings were old, dry and unedible. Now why she felt she had to do what she did I may never learn. I do know that anytime I get a craving for fried chicken in my town I will head over to H.E.B. and buy a package of wings and cook them myself. I will miss the rolls always hot and fresh. We went by last night around 9pm to order food through the drive thru sat there for about 10minutes waiting for someone to greet us and , let us know they are ready for us to to place our order . However finally someone got on the speaker i could hardly hear this girl i told her i wanted Two separate orders keep in MIND TWO separate orders means paying separate !!! Got up to the window and i asked this young lady at the window name was keyla if she takes apple pay ( i have been to this location before several times never ever had a bad experience but this was horrible i've always used APPLEPAY) young lady said " no we don't take apple pay and we can't take card right now like WHAT you've got to be kidding me she said one of her coworker's Ricardo did not want to take our order ! she also proceed to tell us our total my friend gave her her card and , she charged BOTH ORDERS on the same card so we told her and she said IDK . She asked what our drinks were they were all Dr peppers she mixed two drinks we witnessed it all of us she also , dipped her hand in one on " ACCIDENT" proceeded to give us the cup like that.. we asked for a sauce and she said "idk if i can't give you that and , idk where it's at" LIKE you work here ma'am she said it's fine go ahead and go still in disbelief... that isn't even the end we got home , Tenders cold and hard fries were soggy some boxes didn't get fries and , that is exactly what we asked for our side to be ... can't...

I was on my way home from Austin to Houston and the Google driving app suggested this as a place that was reasonably on the way. I was enticed by the 4.6 star rating and decided to eat here. I did not understand that it was actually a fried chicken place. When I got there I realized that it was exactly a fried chicken place and was a little disappointed that I was not going to be having special food. To its credit the chicken was good and they even offered roasted or rotisserie style chicken that I did not try. The lady at the register the suggested that it was nice and tasty. The food that I ate was good for a fried chicken place and the roll was slightly sweet and better than rolls would get at a grocery store. There is nothing amazing about the tea. It's the same as every other fast food place. I would eat here again if I were in the area and wanted chicken & there wasn't a...
