Short version: As honest as anyone I have ever encountered, professional, extremely fair (fair to me, but not sure if what he charged was really fair to himself), and accommodating. If I lived within a couple hours of Luke's shop, I would have him do everything I needed for car maintenance.
Long version: I was 800 miles into returning from a trip, and had another 900 miles to get home, when a new brake job performed by my young nephew came up with issues. I called Luke's shop and explained what was happening and they told me to come in. While I know that the shop had a few days waiting list for customers, Luke immediately looked at the brakes and explained what was wrong (issues with the pad installation, grease on the pads, found that the parking brake inside the disc brake system had come apart). He replaced the pads, removed all of the broken parts from the p-brake and got the vehicle going to where I could continue home - all with a charge that I found amazingly low and fair. I asked him if he was able to schedule the work to permanently repair the p-brake, and after checking on parts said he could do it the next day, and quoted a price that was a lot less than I suspected (pretty much knew) that it would have cost at home.
As if his honesty and professionalism had not been completely proven by this point, the job of replacing the p-brake ended up being what I know was a nightmare for him. This came from no fault of his own - the new parts were made wrong. Luke spent, I suspect, at least twice the amount of labor he quoted in getting the problem taken care of, and he wouldn't take any extra money for the job... His response to me was "it wasn't your fault". He was apologizing to me for the job taking so long....
I don't know how to express my feelings of being lucky enough have been in the La Jara area when this problem showed up. I feel extremely fortunate that it happened where there's honesty, compassion, and professionalism like what I found. I am extremely grateful to Luke and his entire shop, I would never hesitate to...
Read moreI am the owner of this business. Since Google makes it difficult to manage my account, but very easy to put reviews on it, even false ones, I am making this post in self defense. The accounts owned by David Landrum and Amicus Construction, are the same person, and he has never been and never will be a customer at this shop. David's 18 year old son worked at this shop for less than a month. During that time they had some kind of falling out, and his son has moved on. David has chosen to vent by attacking my business. I did allow David's son to use my alignment machine to try to get David's very worn out vehicle to drive better. This was done after hours and for FREE. Another gentleman that works here helped the kid for FREE. No inspection was done, no money was exchanged, and there is no file in my system for this individual. The only mistake this shop made, was trying to help someone out. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished. Please take into account that the bad reviews on this page are more than likely personal attacks unrelated to this business, or people that have never even set foot in my shop. We are not perfect, but we do try to provide quality service, and we stand behind the work that we do for our "customers". Since Google requires no verification to leave reviews on this page, anyone can leave a review, even if they have never been a customer. Even family members or friends from apposing businesses can leave a poor review. If you want an accurate gauge of the quality of work we do, stop by and meet with us directly. Give us a shot. We provide free estimates and strive to be transparent at every stage of the repair. You know what it's going to cost before the repair is started, and the first hour of diagnostics is only $75.00. Thank you...
Read moreWe had the check engine light come on in Taos. After reading the codes it turned out that I needed to replace o2 sensors. All shops in Taos were booked for 2 to 5 weeks. Lucky Luke's, about 90 min from Taos said they could try to fit me in. I was having one of those days and kept running later than anticipated. Yet they patiently waited for me and offered to fit me in. After 3 reschedules due to my delays I finally got there and they ALL practically bent over backwards to accommodate me. Sedona who answered the phone was very professional in handeling/ rescheduling my arrival time. After arriving they took my truck in for repairs in less than 5 min. The service writer whose name I didn't get, answered all my questions relative to the various codes and took the time to check with the mechanic who's name I didn't get but assume it was Mr Luke himself. I'm not one to make recommendations but feel compelled to give Lucky Luke's the best grade for their service. Being from out of town they could have taken advantage of my situation. Instead they treated me with respect and professional courtesy. Thank you all for your team spirit and putting the...
