The apartment complex is tucked away in a neighborhood and is also gated, which provides for a private and quiet feel. My neighbors were all very kind and welcoming. I haven't had to deal with much noise that wouldn't be expected at an apartment complex. Julie is incredibly kind and responsive; you can tell she cares. Office hours are off, sometimes the staff is out even during normal business hours. I never dealt with any utility issues other than a leaky faucet. The apartment complex is old, so if you're expecting brand new modern amenities, this may not be a good fit. Cabinets, shelves and doors have been repeatedly painted over, which make some of them sticky-like you feel when you open them. the AC unit and heater are in the living room so it won't reach the bedroom efficiently. I've adapted with fans and a portable heater. Personally, I had a good experience living here (as long as your manage your expectations). Damien high school is next door, which means on game nights or practice nights, you'll hear the band playing a lot but I think it was kind of fun! However, it is a noise consideration some might not enjoy. The large shopping/grocery area is a close drive, which is very convenient. There were some surprises in utility payments in terms of overall priciness compared to my last living situation. Meet Julie, ask lots of questions to make sure you are all on the same page, to consider if living here is good for you! Again, I enjoyed...
Read moreOh ya, first big thing:you can never just walk in office here. Its ALWAYS locked. So uninviting. A big downside is parking. It's a free for all. People can have as many cars as thy want. Lots of non running cars sitting in stalls, which means they park their running cars in open spaces. There's empty threats of towing non running cars, but never happens. Update, more added. notices are sent out once or maybe 2 a year about keeping carports clutter free, porchs too. But she never makes the usual suspects clean em; cans in trash bags, bikes, oil cans, camping chairs.just sit. Looks so ugly. Nothing gets properly fixed here. The maintenance guy "kinda" fixes it. JUST BEWARE THE NICE shiny things you see walking around. And pay attention to the small things.*UPDATE 1/28/24; still no parking enforcement. People are still able to have 4-5 cars each. After 7pm theres no parking available, be prepared to park...
Read moreVisited Shadow Mountain over Labor Day weekend. I was surprised to see how big the room was and especially surprised to see how quiet the hotel and even the city was. I thought there was going to be a bunch of tourists around trying to relax for the holiday, but nope, it was quiet and we actually loved it. The room was awesome because it was very spacious and the kitchenette allowed us to cook instead of spending more on restaurants, it has all the cooking tools and utensils you may need. The pool was awesome and clean, a little too warm for my personal preference, but we both enjoyed it. I'd say this place is perfect for a weekend getaway, we had no issues whatsoever, even the WiFi was fast. I definitely feel that we got our money's worth for our trip, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay at a nice place in...
