Any park that has to fence areas off for safety isn't going to get 5 stars on principle. Mind you the trees are super old (the ones still standing, sadly, 1/21/21 was brutal) and quite spectacular. But I would go elsewhere with little kids just in case. The playground is nice, got restrooms and have/had a nice covered seating area. This is a really shaded park, so during heat waves this would be a decent place to get some shade. Medium park, could have a family picnic easily here, or a kids birthday party. Read moreWe went there for a Father's day barbecue with our church. The park is located in a beautiful quaint area in LA Verne. There is a big tree that is in the park and it's huge! It's being protected by a fence. It must be over 100 yrs old. The park is clean, plenty of parking and peaceful. The bathrooms are clean, but not "spotless' but still better than other parks. Imagine a almost completely shaded park, with redwoods, the oldest oak tree in the area, and craftsman homes around a quaint street. The only bummer is they recently fenced in the two old trees that kids loved to climb for the last 100 years.... The white fences suck you out of the dream that you are in the forest.
