We adore Our local community center (there is also a Sr Center adjacent on same property) it is close to the playground there and a lake that You can fish from. American Bald Eagles are sighted regularly as they have a few nests in the trees by the lake. There are ducks, geese (seasonal) and turtles as well. The best treat are the sparrows or swifts who flutter around so swiftly and gracefully that You cld be in a vortex of them walking and still never be touched by even a feather. They're beautiful and so used to people but they're noninvasive as well. There are many permanent public restrooms on site. Water fountains, grills and a cpl gazeebo areas for party rental (or just show up at a non scheduled time to grab a spot for free). There are even bins for disc golfing. There's a little stream and a walking path that eventually connects with the Chehalis Western Trail (which is a LONG trail y'all AND they're expanding it as We speak... I do believe the trail goes through 2 or 3 counties) and is open to bikers/skaters but NO MOTORIZED vehicles pls (no electric bikes/scooters or cycles... This trail is VERY active and many Children and pets also use it daily so this wld be a potential safety hazard). Fun note about Chehalis Western Trail connection: A lot of wildlife, excellent scenic views, fun catwalk over Yelm Highway and many points of entrance/exit so You're never stuck for long. NOT safe past nightfall. Please do NOT be on the trail after dusk or before dawn or during heavy fog. I have witnessed people sleeping out there and doing drugs on the trail a few times that I was on it at sunset. No lights are offered on the trail aside from traffic...
Read moreWe enjoyed our time at the park, my grandchildren had lots of fun on the playground. The lake is beautiful, watched 2 Bald Eagles, flying over looking for fish. Didn't get to see if they pulled any out, the little kids really loved seeing them so close, in person, not in cages, or behind glass. Make sure if you're wanting to have a party, or family gathering there, that you contact the Lacey Park's Department in advance to save a covered spot. Because people just take them, and you have to show them it's reserved for you so they have to move there stuff from the area for you. If they refuse you can call 911 and they will come and make them move. Always plan ahead, save the spot. This park has a walkway around it, trails, disk golf, your not allowed to swim in the man made lake, I believe in fishing season it ok to fish, should ask the Lacey Pay Department, before fishing, because I'm not sure if you can fish here. There is bathrooms, large parking lot, beach area, Senior center, and the town's center is located her, you can rent out the Lacey center for party's, wedding, and receptions, ask the Lacey Park's Department who you'll need to talk with to...
Read moreI was trying to go to an event that was scheduled to be held here, but apparently it was canceled and there was a scheduling issue. I will say that the facility itself was really nice and the person working inside was very helpful and friendly and let me know immediately that there was many other people looking for the same event and he's not sure what happened there.
I'm just giving these stars for the fact that the person working there was extremely friendly and the fact that inside it was very clean and neat. It is right next to the lake. So if you happen to go there for something you can take a walk around the lake and hang out with the ducks and there's a pretty big playground...
