It’s about time I wrote a review. My most recent experience in this store has my gratitude over the moon. I bought an iPad from another vendor in 2017. Until 9 August 2020 I had only used androids. The iPad was mailed to me and the vendor from whom I bought it rudely refused to help me. Trying to find time, etc. to address problem was a challenge. I tried to get help from Apple from my premises but that failed. The Apple store is a long way from me and thoughts of going there for more disappointment and frustration debilitated me. I bought a book about the iPad and asked a systems analyst friend to help. He couldn’t get the device unlocked. Then I paid for a class. The teacher couldn’t get the iPad unlocked so I could participate with the class. I never used the iPad until 9 August 2020 more than three years after purchase, when Libbie got the iPad unlocked. She also got me sorted out on my android devices, replacing some. If I like my first Apple product I will migrate although I have no complaints with androids. Libbie has compassionately helped me for 6+ years. On 9 August 2020, a Sunday, I arrived at the store about an hour after they opened. I figured I was going to be there a while and was prepared for that. There were several customers ahead of me. Libbie and Michael let all of us know they were intent on getting to us as soon as possible. No one minded. We understand the good faith and that we were not being ignored. We talked a bit among ourselves sharing the loyalty this particular store has generated in us. It seemed everybody had a super rapport already with the associates. I learned from one man he would go out of his way to deal with the Union Avenue technicians even if other Verizon stores were closer. (By the way, I got talked into the iPad at an office supply store. I also bought extended warranty that expired while the iPad was locked.) Libbie and Michael kept everyone happy, checking as new customers arrived to find out what their needs were. Libbie and Michael both stayed way past closing time to help clientele. A new associate came in for a while. Even though he was not on duty, he helped out a bit too. The culture in this store is beyond belief. Today I went back to the store to buy a case for the iPad. The one bought from office supply store didn’t seem right. I assume it cost more because it has a keyboard, separate from the iPad. The iPad seemed precarious in that case. Turns out office supply store sold me wrong size case, too big and put the iPad at risk of falling out. I never noticed because until Libbie got the iPad unlocked it languished in its beautiful box. Jeremiah, another associate in this store has me now with the iPad in a beautiful case, a case that will protect the iPad. BTW, I know Jeremiah from another business where he worked. Read moreI went in having done my homework for a Note 5 and wanted to pay cash. The manager (Olivia) made rude remarks on how I was wasting my money and that it would cost me much less to go monthly which is how she gets her kick-backs. I mentioned how I had done my homework and that buying the phone outright was most cost effective path. She then proceeded to waste half an hour of my time being condescending to come to the realization that I was correct and she was wrong. No apologies were given. She then reversed her argument when I asked for phone insurance. She said that if I paid for the insurance up front I would save $50 rather than paying monthly. I asked her, is it the same company? She looked surprised that one of her customers would be savvy enough to even ask that question. She said it wasn't. I asked how long they had been around compared to Asurian. She said " We have been doing business with them for over 7 months!". She then lied and said the deductible was less with them. Another lie that I exposed to her face. She then said it would be $100 more for the phone than what was quoted by the young lady at that same store. I said " Someone here told me it would be the same price as from Verizon". She pointed at the young lady 3 feet away and said (without even using her name) "That girl? She just started working here two days ago. She doesn't know anything". I pointed out that it unusual that she be $100 higher than everyone else and to check her "list" again. She quickly realized once again that she was in fact wrong and the new girl was right. No apology to the young lady she had just berated in front of everyone in the store.
Due to her clear anger in being unable to convince me to except a higher cost monthly payment plan for the phone, she chimed out for everyone to hear " Well its great that you have that kind of disposable income. Most people don't have that" and walked away.
I don't usually write reviews but felt this was deserved of one. I support my local community and they should be warned about what to expect from this rude and dishonest...
Read moreOn March 28, I was assisted by Libbie at the Laconia office of VERIZON. I presented with big problems as my very old iPhone 6S had died two days prior to my appointment. No pulse. Battery completely dead. I was very concerned about the prospects of transferring my photos, contacts and apps from my old phone to a new phone. although I am not particularly competent technology wise, I had written down certain information which was fairly meaningless to me, but with this information, despite the condition of my phone, Libbie was able to extract my Contacts, photos, etc., from something called the cloud and transfer all of it to my new phone!!! This was big and so important to me. Throughout the process, Libbie was remarkably calm, patient and friendly. I had many questions, but Libbie very patiently answered every one of them in a way that I found easy to understand. She even provided an analogy or two to help me understand certain concepts. Libbie was very generous with her time and never exhibited any impatience or resistance to my many questions. I never felt rushed or pushed. I was totally comfortable throughout the process of giving up my old phone and acquiring a new one. I was a very happy guy when I left the VERIZON office with a new phone that I understood much better than my previous phone and that I knew how to operate.
