I was feeling glum because I noticed one of the tiny diamonds from my wedding band fell out (after 13+ years). I used to joke that I’d never notice if one of them ever fell off since the diamonds are so teeny but, as usual, the universe has fun letting me know how wrong I am all the time. One day I looked down and there was a black hole in my wedding band. I did notice, and it was jarring. Being totally clueless about jewelry, I kind of panicked because I thought it was a big deal and nobody could fix it because the missing diamond is so small. Enter Jeff at Sherwood Bridge Diamonds. I stopped by his shop, he was very low-key and kind and he took a look at my wedding band and said he could fix it. For $15. I thought he was joking. He wasn’t, but it goes to show how clueless I am about jewelry. Two weeks later I picked up my wedding band—good as new--and brought two more rings with me. One was my grandmother’s ring, which I don’t wear much because the side of it is always snagging my clothing. The other ring was one I bought many years ago but, again, didn’t wear it because the diamond settings would jab the skin between my fingers whenever my hand was closed, and it was a very annoying feeling. Jeff went over some options and I liked them. He could remove all the little diamonds from the ring and set them in a band so that there would be no more prongs jabbing me between the fingers. What to do with the ring now that the diamonds were removed? I asked if it was salvageable. He suggested fitting a small Alexandrite on a bezel. He had been holding onto this gem for some time, someone offered to buy it from him but he didn’t feel like parting with it at the time. He thought it would look great on this ring. Honestly, I’m not very knowledgeable about jewelry but I trusted him and decided to go with it. I went to pick up the rings today and I can’t express enough how much I love the ring. My grandmother’s ring looks beautiful and feels smooth and no longer snags my clothing. The new 14k gold band with the tiny diamonds set in it is also beautiful and stacks well with my wedding band. But the ring with the Alexandrite, when he opened the black jewelry box and I saw it, holy cow. It’s just perfect. It’s more perfect and special than I even imagined. It’s unique and minimalistic, I can’t stop admiring it, and I’ve even thought about which special person I will leave it to when I pass from this life. Sorry for the long review, but I highly recommend Jeff and Sherwood Bridge Diamonds for all of your jewelry needs. Knowing how knowledgeable he is about diamonds, and then going to him with my teeny tiny diamonds, and having him treat me so kindly and genuinely, I am very grateful and will obviously be a repeat customer. Over 10 years ago I came to see Jeffery to find an engagement ring for my now wife. I had no idea what I was doing, outside of some research online, and I was terrified of how this whole experience was going to go. Jeffery couldn't have been more welcoming, patient, and willing to educate me more than he was.
