Good things come to those who wait! It took about 45 minutes to get a table during the Saturday morning rush. It was busy the whole time. What does that tell you? They are doing something right.

Despite the crowd, the service was prompt and friendly, and the food was hearty and tasty. They did a good job keeping our iced tea glasses full, bringing napkins, and other stuff we requested.

The food came out in a reasonable time, even though the kitchen was absolutely slammed with orders. The two cooks were doing an amazing job - I'm still not sure how they were getting it all done so efficiently.

The food itself was fresh and hot, classic home cooked style. I ordered the garden omelette, and added ham. It was incredibly tasty and stuffed full of all the ingredients. The hollandaise sauce on top was an awesome touch. Note they serve breakfast all day which is great for those of us who love to sleep in on the weekends! The rest of the classic diner menu options looked good as well.

Our kids also ate every scrap of their meals, which is the ultimate test. If the kids like it, you know it's a good restaurant!

By the time we were finished, I had a new appreciation for why it was so crowded. This place serves great breakfast comfort food. We will...

Terrible experience here, wouldn't recommend. Made us feel as though we are second class citizens. The waitress tended to everyone else but our table, after 15 minutes of sitting with no service the owner asks her why we weren't being helped.. Mind you this place was pretty empty. So she then comes over with an attitude, saying I shouldn't have a highchair by the table. Completely ignoring the fact that I have a 2 year old sleeping in my arms as the chair was for her. Insulting to the say the least, considering this was our first interaction with the waitress. No sincerity, no understanding her first words- "This is in the way" but i'll let you keep it there, referring to the highchair placed perfectly at the table. I decided at this time, it's clear I would take my business to where I'm not being treated as though I'm not welcome. I don't want to believe this is because we were the only black family there but I can assure you there was no smiles, nothing friendly about our experience at this restaurant. Sad to see and experience things like this still happening. We watched another family come in 10 mins after us and get tended to right away...

If you're a minority stay away from this place your business...

We’ve been going to this place for years. The food has generally been good, but prices are going up. But, it’s a local establishment, so we try to go at least once or twice a month. Today, however, I never got a chance to order anything. The wait staff decided they would ignore or avoid us for 10 minutes with at least half the restaurant empty. The only people that spoke to us was a hostess telling us to sit anywhere and one waitress, who while helping one pair of ladies, kept avoiding us and then finally acknowledged us by looking our way. But, then continued to ignore us. Meanwhile, waitresses in other “stations” couldn’t seem to be bothered to say hello, offer water or say they’d find our waitress.

This is just rude and the food is not good enough to put up with this. Nor is the food worth the price to be ignored. This is horrible customer service that could easily be handled with a simple “hello…I’ll be right with you” or may offer us some water??? Nope. Nothing.

I’m sure it doesn’t matter to the owners of this restaurant as they seem to have a loyal following, but we will no longer be patronizing this local...

The Snooty Fox, it seems, is a cornerstone of the Laguna Woods/Lake Forest area, and you’d be lucky to show up and be seated without a significant wait time. However, if you ask me, this revered status really only survives through nostalgia and tradition. True, the staff are lovely and wonderful people, and the decoration and atmosphere are truly something you don’t get to see much anymore. If you want to go just for the experience, I think it will be worth it. The food, on the other hand, is… fine. It’s just fine. I heard that the cinnamon rolls were amazing, but I found the presentation and taste to be rather underwhelming. The chili burrito, as well, left much to be desired. Even the signature “Those Potatoes” (hash browns with peppers and onions) were good, but nothing too special. For those who love the Snooty Fox and come back time and time again, I can see why, but it just doesn’t do it for me.

The Snooty Fox looks like it hasn’t changed since the 1960’s and that is in no way a bad thing! It harkens back to a simpler time when the experience was more about the service and food than the instagramable decor. The Eggs Benedict were quickly delivered by Julie, a very sweet and friendly woman, and was devoured just as fast. The plate included their signature “Them Potatoes;” hash browns with a mix of green peppers, red peppers, and onions, that were game changing. Garnished with an orange slice and parsley like it probably has been for the past 30 years, it was the perfect finishing touch to this dining experience. If you find yourself in Lake Forest and you’re looking for a fast, friendly, and insanely filling dining experience, come and enjoy the Snooty Fox.

I'm not sure what's more impressive, the Snooty Fox Diner's ability to serve breakfast and lunch until 3 PM or their ninja-like reflexes when it comes to refilling coffee cups. I mean, these pros can spot a half-full mug from a mile away! But seriously, this hidden gem in Laguna Hills is a real treat. The service is top-notch, like a well-oiled machine (or a perfectly greased frying pan). The breakfast is a throwback to the good old days when Denny's and Coco's were actually good (remember those times?). Yes!! I know theres a Coco's near by ( it's still not the same) The hashbrowns are crispy perfection, and the rest of the meal is, well, good. Not life-changing, but good. I'll definitely be back, if only for the caffeine and some serious coffee-cup-filling envy.
