Misha's Pets of LC & Self Serve Dog Wash — Local services in Lake Charles

I give this place 2 stars. It was dirty, and poorly maintained. They sold me a betta with fin rot, and I didn't notice it until the condition got worse. Thanks to medicine, it was cured. The place stunk very bad. "Oh, but it's a pet store, of course it won't smell like roses." I know, but it shouldn't smell so horrible that I have to put my shirt over my nose. The staff was a little rude, she had a little attitude with me when I commented on the water the poor bettas were living in. The water had feces on the bottom, and was VERY cloudy. I tried to be nice about it. Bettas that live in cups those size should be cleaned DAILY until they get a forever home. But then, cleaning it out every day would stress the fish out and have potential of dying. Anyway, they didn't even bother to educate me very much about my animal. Although pet store help is not accurate, they could have at least tried. I know all about bettas now, but future people that buy those fish 90 percent of the time WON'T know. When I asked where the food was, they just pointed and didn't walk with us like Petco would. Hmph. So good for...

When traveling in a motorhome for long trips it is always nice to find a place to help keep our Shelties clean - Misha's was a gem.

Clean, interesting store with a variety of healthy looking animals, and the gal that helped us (I apologize for forgetting her name!) was very nice, from the phone call confirming the dog wash was available through the whole visit - not overbearing but checking in to make sure things were going well and that we did not need anything.

She even told us about a nic park to walk our dogs in and a local dog park that was close by.

There is only one dog wash bay, so calling ahead will make your visit go smoothly.

They were so accomodating, I had two Shelties with me and only had time to wash one that day due to our schedule and the employee graciously set up a barrier to keep the 2nd pup in the wash area with me so hubby could do some shopping at the grocery storeand the pup would not have to stay in the car alone.

Usually I have no issues at all with mishas pet. Until today 8/10/18. I go into the store like I do every other week (been like this for a couple years now.) Oh I'm not scared to use this person's name (KIM) I didn't get a hi how are you, how may I help you, nothing. I knew what I wanted the moment I headed to the store lmao. Instead she continuously talked to this other consumer while looking at me standing there waiting. They were just talking about every day things he already got the answer he was looking for may I add. I walk around looking thinking well maybe she will ask but nope still the same thing she running her mouth instead of helping or asking if I needed help. So I walk out the store.
