I had two separate poor experiences with tractorpartsasap. Enough that I am writing this to deter others from dealing with this company.
Around 6 months ago I purchased a used drive motor for a skidloader. Part arrived quickly. Took out of box and removed connection caps. Loaded with dirt sludge oil. I lucked out and had a seal kit for it. Tore unit down and cleaned all the dirt out of it. Internals looked fine, it was as if during removal it was rotated with hoses disconnected allowing dirt in. I left an email with company just explaining the situation. Not asking for anything but a response. No response. Mistakes happen and used parts aren't perfect. I get it.
Fast forward to now. A Ford tractor I own had a bad engine. Looked around and found tractorpartsasap had a complete 'good runner' for 3k with a year warranty. Salesman knocked it to 2700$ with 250$ core charge. Thought that sounded like a deal. Salesman explained that they run engine and check them out really well before they are willing to sell.
Drove 6 hours round trip to tractorpartsasap Lake Mills location. Brought engine home and installed. The 3 cylinder diesel runs on 2 most of the time and has enough blowby to make the tractor seem like a steam engine. On a hot Iowa day it was hard starting. Burning/blowing out 1 quart of engine oil every hour or two of running. Worn out.
I sent salesman a video of engine running. He was polite and explained that I could always return motor for my money back. I explained that I spent 50 hours so far on removal/install. I vented that I need my tractor in operating condition. He asked me to call back in a week due to fact he cannot make any decisions as his boss was out of town.
Called back a week later. Offered again for me to return engine. I stated that would be a huge burden to have tractor torn apart again and to spend another day driving just to return engine. I would be back to square one. I asked about just getting my money back. Shortly thereafter saleman said he got an ok to refund me 1700$. Absolutely not a dollar more. With core and sales tax I am in motor for about 3100$. I took the offer to get some money back and not have torn apart tractor while waiting to find another engine.
I ended up paying 1400$ for a running core engine. That wouldn't be too bad if advertised from the start. I could have known that and got it rebuilt before installing. It was their error.
I wish Tractorpartsasap would have owned up to their mistakes. It seemed as though if I didn't keep calling and advocating for myself, nothing would have happened.
Edit: Thank you for reply. I do not know how to get ahold of you. Please call me if you'd...
Read moreI could go into great great great detail about this place but I'll let my star represent my thoughts on this place it's usually more trouble than it is worth it good luck getting your right order might be the third or fourth time. And excuse me I spelled my last name wrong? Obviously you do not know how my last name is spelled because it is spelled correctly right here that's t e n o l d pretty sad that a company owner has to resort to making intellectual insults that really shows true nature of this company and I may have never made an order but I've worked there and I know how many orders come back as a wrong part care to explain the huge overflow of returns in the return office? Guess I...
Read moreI bought a steering wheel for my Massey Ferguson 40 industrial tractor and it’s supposed to be 36 splins like their ad says but it’s not and they won’t take it back and they’re blaming me for the part being wrong even though in their ad it says it’s for my tractor when I called they were terrible customer service and weren’t very helpful. I will not buy anything from this company ever again, it’s not my fault. It’s a cheap Chinese...
