I’ve always been curious about acupuncture and was referred to Kasey McKenney at Ethos—what a fantastic experience! From the start, Kasey was incredibly approachable, compassionate, and easy to talk to. She has a natural ability to create a calming presence, which was exactly what I needed as I sought relief from stress and muscle tension.
The environment at Ethos is equally soothing. From the moment you walk in, the space feels peaceful, and the treatment rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed. Kasey created an individualized treatment plan for me and truly is a master of her craft. She continuously adjusted my herbal remedies and offered helpful suggestions based on how I was feeling and responding to treatment.
One thing I especially appreciated was her honesty throughout the process. We started with weekly sessions, then transitioned to biweekly, then monthly—until she told me I had "graduated" and could choose whether to continue for maintenance or take a break. That kind of integrity is rare and speaks volumes about her confidence and genuine care for her patients.
It’s been a few months since my last session, and I can honestly say I’m still feeling great!
In addition to Kasey’s amazing care, I want to shout out the Ethos training studio itself. I used to take their classes at their former River North location and have recently taken some in Lincoln Park. As a fitness professional, I can say their programming is top-notch—intelligent, well-structured, and delivered by warm, knowledgeable instructors. Tim and the team have done an incredible job cultivating a welcoming, community-focused space. And the location right off the Brown Line is a huge plus!
Thank you, Kasey, Tim, and the entire Ethos team for taking such...
Read moreMy private training experience (lack thereof) was TERRIBLE . I had booked an intro session with a private trainer, the owner. He then cancelled on me because he said that he doesn't do those sessions and it was a technical error. So for two months I had emailed the gym and owner, and the only reply I got was that they were going to find someone to take care of it. I eventually saw in my spam that an email from a coach went there (my fault for not checking spam).
Either way, I had been patiently and kindly emailing (owner even thanked me for how kind I was) for two months. I finally called about it and Nicole at front desk then explained after failing to provide me a service, that "We can't guarantee a service every time you purchase it." When I mentioned to the owner I wanted to continue private training, he called me INCESSANT and DISRUPTIVE. I was incessant and disruptive because I paid for a service that I never received after two months?
My Class Experience:
I participated in one single class. When entering the building, no one greeted me for the first 5 minutes. I didn't know what or where to go, even after walking around and looking like a lost dog for some time- One classmate finally helped me and told me where to go. Once the class started- the coach did a terrible job at telling anyone where to get equipment. The coach also didn't introduce herself nor ask me my name once the entire time I was there. For a gym that claims to be a "community," that didn't make sense.
I've been to this facility a few amount of times. Fantastic and stunning facility. Their sauna/ice bath program is incredible. Very nice owner with a friendly smile. Other than that I have not had a...
Read moreI’ve had the great fortune of knowing Kasey for quite some time and as an acupuncturist, I can confidently say that she is one of the most thoughtful, conscientious, professional and intuitive healers I know. She is a master of her craft and you can feel the intention and love she pours into her work as well as her desire to keep learning and growing, personally and professionally. She truly aims to live by and practice what she shares with you while on the table. She takes a holistic and transpersonal approach to her work, helping you recover/heal in body, mind and spirit. If you’re looking for an acupuncturist in the city, look no further.
Now working with Dr. Dwight as well, I’m quickly realizing all of the same qualities apply to his care and approach as a Chiropractor. Quite the treatment team they have and are building at Ethos!
And finally, these sentiments hold up for the entire training team and reception staff as well. When first coming here a few years ago, I could sense it was a special place upon walking through the doors and taking a few of their classes. You can sense their energy, warmth and connection pretty quickly. It’s a place where we can let our real selves be seen, in whatever way(s) we may want or need on any given day. Creating such an inviting space for that to happen naturally takes a special type of person and group of people.
The whole Ethos team can feel great about the work they’re doing and how each of them contributes to such a unique and positive experience for so many of...
