Quite a lengthy review but worth the read!
I visited this salon as a walk in based on recommendation from another patron I met in another nail salon. The salon is small but the decor, color scheme and details are very beautiful! I was immediately greeted and asked what services I would like, then assisted. I came for a pedicure w/ gel (callus removal included), take off + full set (short set) + gel paid $90 and Dao serviced me. The pedicure was IMMACULATE! BEST PEDICURE in the city. She took her time, massaged, went above and beyond. I was dead set on paying my price + tipping the same amount, thats how good it was but it leads me into the underside of things and why I decided not to tip and possibly not come back to this establishment. I was having a conversation with my friend on FaceTime about the previous nail set I had and how unsatisfied I was with just the design. My friend was explaining how patrons do not speak up on whether theyāre satisfied with services or not, nail techs do not know how to do certain sets, designs etc but they donāt speak up to tell the client out of greed. I stated āYes, the other lady who was doing my last set ā¦.. but I didnāt like the design it was offish and if you canāt do a design just say that so I can pick something else or leave it as is, Im simple.ā Dao interjects into our conversation and says āAre you talking about me?ā In a very confrontational tone. I matched her tone & told her āNo, I said the other nail tech ā¦. Iām not scared to speak up for myself if I donāt like something trust me!ā She says ā⦠oh I thought you were talking about me while Iām doing your nails.ā I just found that very rude and completely turned my experience around which led me to not tipping.
Another thing, I originally requested a soak off but Dao insisted she could easily take my set off with no pain using another nail ⦠biggest regret, my pinky nail bled and I was in serious pain then & later when acrylic etc was added. An apology would have sufficed but she instead said āCan you handle it?ā As putting acetone on a wound would hurt worst, I agreed for her to continue and requested for my other hand to be soaked off. No water or alcohol was
Simple things go a long way, all nail services should include clean up of left over acrylic surrounding the fingers. Thereās truly no reason why after paying $90, there was dried acrylic all over my fingers near the matrix etc.
Again, it is a new salon but I believe they have the potential...

My biggest complaint with this nail salon is with my nail tech Jessica. I showed her the reference photo as to what I wanted which was an almond shaped, medium length, French tip, with a few flowers details on two of the fingers. As she was filing down the nails to shape I noticed they were pointed, like Sharp. I nicely let her know that I would like a little bit more of a round tip and not so pointed (which isn't a big deal). She then proceeds to argue with me that that's not what the reference photo was. Which she mentioned a few times throughout the session LOL but I really don't care because I'm the one paying for them. She also got her panties in a bunch because I didn't want to spend the extra money on gel. Again, she's not paying for them. She told me how they wouldn't look as good and continued to complain how long they would take to dry throughout the session. As she was adding the flower details near the end she felt the need to express that she doesn't like them and that she should just take them off. Which is kind of funny because I like them, it felt more like she was just throwing a tantrum because she didn't get her way with me. I'm not going to add every little comment she made and her attitude but just know that this wasn't everything. This was just the main part.
I'm also going to add in here how there was an older gentleman that wanted to get a pedicure shortly after I sat down. They sat him in a seat and completely forgot about him. Once I was done with my full manicure I was also seated to get a pedicure which he was still sitting at. After countless minutes continue to go by I noticed him get up and leave which at that point Jessica expressed how she forgot about him.
For this to have been my experience I'm completely disappointed. I'm not somebody that frequents the nail salon, I don't get much time to myself, I was really looking forward to this. I should have checked the reviews before I went. To think that I spent over $100 to be treated like this is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to this place twice. The first time I had builders gel . I was a bit dissatisfied that my nail beds were lumpy not smooth. Lousy job! However, I gave them another chance . The pedicure tech was super nice, spoke very good English and was conversational and very pleasant. He did an awesome pedicure. The guy that did the gel manicure only pointed , no conversation his station was dirty I had to use my Sani wipe to clean the area before putting my hand there. I came home put my glasses on to look at my nails a piece of my thumb nail was broken off, and saw that 3 of my finger nails were not fully covered with the gel and my natural nails were longer than the gel nail and were so sharp with scratchy edges i called them about the broken nail , and decided to let them see the other problems when I see them. They told me to come in. I live 45 minutes away from there and decided that if I paid for a job to be done correctly, I shouldnāt have to return to correct it, by burning gas and mileage. With that being said I will not be returning, and in the future take my prescribed glasses to really look at my nails before I leave the salon. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place . Twice...
