I did best I could to go online and research what documents I needed for title transfer. I waited almost an hour, got to counter and the gal was talking to her coworkers about something so I waited for her to finish. Then she looks at me like I'm crazy or stupid and rudely asks me, "are you going to give me something." I was taking back a bit by how rude she was. I paused and made a commitment that she need not be so rude she denied and said "I'm not being rude." She took the title and immediately told me what I was missing very rudely. Long story short I don't buy cars often, I got a used car private sale for my teen daughter and didn't know that if the person is deceased you needed the death certificate copy. The seller didn't think I would need it either. I just can't believe that there isn't any other way with all the money the government has and technology avaliable that they can't look that stuff up somehow. Now I have to go bother this person who was still sad about their parents passing and ask for this death certificate. I'll just to go Apple Valley next time, for how rude this gal was alone. This DMV location is not only uncomfortable to wait at, its understaffed with some rude people. I will say there was two ladies at the front checking people in, who were nice and seemed somewhat attentive. They could maybe screen peoples documents so no one wastes their time though. That would be an...
Read moreWould be less, I did four Titles in January all four did not arrive, called state and told me to just go into one of the local DMV offices and they can just reprint it at no cost. Got to the Lakeville location at 4:35 and got a walk in number, the wait time said 1 hr 7 min and 28 people waiting. There were Employees walking around not even helping at the counters, three counters were in use, they were calling numbers with no people going to the counters with that number, some had left already, then after their number was passed by the Employees were helping them when they just went up to the counter. There was people coming in taking a number then just going to the counter and getting helped ahead of others that were waiting. One of the Employees announced that certain services would not be done unless you were at the counter at 6:30, at 6:25 made the same announcement, the people hat had been waiting for the services they would not provide all left. I waited 2 hours and at 6:28 walked up to the counter to be told that they could not reprint my Title because they were not doing that, all they had to do is reprint it, not even 5 minute thing to do. So Basically the Employees get paid to sit for 30 minutes and do nothing because nobody at the counter at 6:30 could be helped because everyone that was there and had waited longer than me left and the doors closed at 6:30 so anyone that would be in was...
Read moreI arrived at this location just prior to lunch, assuming there may be more of a wait when everyone was at lunch. There were only a few guests. I picked up a form, a pen, a clipboard, and took a number from the dispenser without anyone needing to instruct me to do so. I knew this, since all MN DMV office run the same way. Just as I finished filling out my form, my number was called. A wonderful young lady at the counter greated me with the most welcoming smile. Her upbeat and positive attitude was radiating from the other side of the counter. I smiled back and handed her my filled out form and all required documents as required. (There are pamphlets in the lobby and online to explain what I should arrive with). She took my photo for my license. She smiled and showed me the photo. It was amazing ! I wouldn't be surprised if she spent the last 10 years as a professional photographer. I was then given my receipts and she clearly explained the process of when my new license would arrive and the paperwork I should carry on me at all times. She wished me a great day and we parted ways. I will try to make her wish come true. I cannot imagine how my day can be any better than those few minutes spent at the Lakeville DMV. It...
