Great facility and great staff. You can tell the staff really cares about each cat they work with. Clean facility and you can tell the cats really enjoy their environment. I also think the open cat rooms are great for socializing the cats. The only thing, we adopted our kitten and after having her for 7 days, we took her to a post-adoption exam with our vet to find out she had a medical issue that required surgery. The vet expressed that she had this medical issue for longer than the week we had her at our home. The CCS did not inform us of her medical issue while adopting her (I donāt even think they knew, but with observation and examination, it was quite visible and obvious that she had something bulging out of her stomach). When I informed CCS of the problem at hand that required a $560 surgery, I received an email - not phone call - in response saying they will relay the message to the vets so theyāre more vigilant. I wasnāt looking for compensation, just a bit more concern/empathy since they seemed to have had a connection to our kitten and this issue was relevant while the kitten was under their care. Now our baby has undergone two major abdominal surgeries in her short 6 months of life. Sheās a trooper and worth every penny. We love her so much. Again, I really enjoyed the adoption process with this facility. I would recommend them. However, we ran into a little hiccup that could have easily...
Ā Ā Ā Read more100% recommended for any of your cat care needs! I recently took a kitten there...he was the runt of a litter of kittens I was responsible for re-homing. He was also born with Swimmers Syndome, a condition where the hind legs are not fully devoloped, preventing the kitten from being able to walk. I learned this condition needed to be treated as young as possible. Having never heard of this condition and with no knowledge of how to treat it, I first turned to Foothills Animal Shelter. They basically told me that I could leave the kitten with them, but that it was likely the kitten would be euthanized, as their veterinarians did not have much experience with the syndrome. I walked right back out the door, taking the kitten with me! I then contacted the Cat Care Society, and they welcomed Scooter (the name we gave him because he āscootedā instead of walked) with open arms! Staff was so friendly, caring, and compassionate. They told me their goal was to HELP the cats that came into the facility, and NOT euthanize them. They took Scooter on and are in the process of treating him for his condition!!! Scooter has a chance now because of these people. They care about the cats as if they were their own pets! This is the ONLY place to go for your feline needs! Thank you, Cat Care Society! And Scooter thanks you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave dealt with this shelter since 1980's. Cage free and non-euthanasia shelter. Have adopted wonderful cats over the years. Fantastic place to volunteer and visit the kitties!! 2/13/18..adopted 2 senior sisters. One is gravely ill, many vet visits, meds, dietary changes. Other sister very healthy and totally bonded with Dad of household. Both were fine with the dog. Had to return ill cat and wanted to keep other one. They refused to let us do that! Had to return both cats. The ill female is suffering badly and humanely needs to be put down. Constant committing/diarrhea and rapidly losing weight. Her name is May. Healthy sister is Lucy. Extremely cruel to subject Lucy to shelter again. CCS staff did not inform us of true cat health, prolonging her suffering. I beg you to adopt Lucy!! She slept with Dad and pretty much stayed in his room, coming out to see May occasionally. CCS please do not let May suffer any longer..very cruel!!! Adopt Lucy ASAP!! Have had friends tell me the cats they adopted over the years all had upper respiratory infections. CCS is NOT the exceptional shelter it once was!! Please be very careful when adopting. Perhaps demand to see their medical records. PLRASE ADOPT LUCY..she is sweet,...
