I have very mixed reviews about this place. We had gotten our dog here in March. His paw print is my heart, love him to pieces. Besides the point - he had heart worm which we understood. He was neutered there shortly after getting him on a Tuesday and when I got him back I get very little direction on how to care for him. In fact the vet who was explaining things to me about my dog that morning got him confused with another dog, a worked was bringing out another family and she says "there's you dog!". I wasn't pleased seeing as he spent all day there but things happen and I know she saw several others. I bring him back for heart work "treatment". Ok with him we got a little folded up paper on what heart worm is and etc. I had no idea he was getting his shot that day and granted I should have maybe assumed but I also should have been informed. Upon picking him up we received prednisone which he were instruction on how to give it to him but no side effects and that he needed to be seen by a vet the next day. However- I drop him off the vets they set us up and appt with the next day immediately after and half way through the day I found out my dog didn't need to be there. That they confused him with another dog. I absolutely refuse to take my fur baby there again. I think I made myself as clear as day on this and that I'd be taking him to the vets for following treatment. I get a phone call a month later stating they need to reschedule my dogs appt.. When I just went through this a month ago that I was never coming back there. My pup is in better hands of someone with more communication and understanding. I had to leave a voicemail stating I felt that way.
The director who spoke to me was quite nice the first time around, as much as she could be given. I hope that this shows them to maybe educate the staff and the owners about things first even with the vets busy schedule. Apart of caring for an pet has to include after giving them to forever families. I can only hope.
My head cringes at the thought of this place because I know my dog has spent many hours there after being adopted and it seems nobody knows the real deal with my pet.
I know they have many more to handle but that does not mean one pet gets better treatment than...
Read moreSomeone had scheduled me for a neutering appointment on a Wednesday I had specifically asked for a Wednesday because I am in college and work full time so that was my only free day. I drove and hour away to take my dog to his appointment and when I got there a woman scoffed at me and told me they did not do neuterings on Wednesday that they only did them Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I explained my situation to her and she took down my name, but I never got a call back. A few days later I called to see if I could get another appointment and I was told they only do neuterings on Mondays and were booked and to call back in a few months. I called the next day to see if there was anything else I could do. A woman answered the phone who was extremely helpful and got me squeezed in for an appointment (I wish I had gotten her name). The appointment rolled around and I drove an hour again just to be told their machine was down and there was nothing they could do even though I received multiple conformation emails and texts about my appointment the night before. The man who was there told me there was nothing he could do and that you get what you pay for. I missed my college class today to take my dog on a Tuesday. They didn't take down my name or anything I was told it would just be easier to go to a real vet. Iâve wasted my gas money twice now and still have a dog with balls.
Update: I emailed the lady that responded itâs been months and still no response back. Donât go here they will probably kill your dog or cat...
Read moreI used to do community service here. Yes, the place is a great place to get an adopted pet. But some of the staff there is very rude, disrespectful and ignorant. There are some great workers there don't get me wrong. But there are always a few bad apples. I remember when two of them sexually harassed me and made penis jokes directed towards me and when I made a comment back that wasn't even directed towards anyone that worked there, I was in the wrong. Now had I not made a comment back, they'd have a hefty sexual harassment lawsuit on their hands. I'm naturally a friendly person and I'm quite the talker. So when I was confronted about supposedly flirting with a woman's 15 year old daughter, I was very offended. I'm 23 years old and was 22 at the time and I have a daughter that'll be 2 come February. They also accused me of stealing a pair of sunglasses that went missing and they never checked the cameras and jumped to a conclusion based on my record that never seemed to be an issue up until everyone started to target me. Then they told me I was no longer welcome there and had to complete my community service hours elsewhere. But after some time I attempted to reach out to get reinvolved and go back to complete my hours but I was told that it wouldn't happen. So I'm upset and wanted my experience there to be heard. And for anyone to understand the way things can be behind the scenes. This is solely based on personal experience but given it is a business and things like that happen I had to give it...
