As a former Division 1 college basketball player and now retired pro from playing 8 years overseas, I've dedicated 25 plus years of putting my body through rigorous punishment so that I could always be ready to play at the highest elite level possible. After basketball though, I picked up running and have now logged close to 3,000 miles on my body from running including running a marathon. Now at the age of 39, my body is paying for it. 2018 was probably one of the worst years of my life. Everyday waking up with full body aches, severe headaches, knees hurting so bad that it was painful to walk up the steps. You name it, I thought I had it. I went through a batter of tests, but everything came back normal. One day at the doctors, she asked me do I stretch. I said, "I have no elasticity" and my mentality when playing ball and running was I will get loose while I'm moving. Boy, do I wish I could take that mentality back because I'm paying for it now. So, the doctor recommended trying Yoga. So, I asked a friend of mine which one should I go to and she immediately said Florida Power Yoga. She ranted and raved about the place, the owner, and the specific class "Hot Yoga with Denice." Denice is the owner and former Bio Chemist who's created the perfect atmosphere for her studio down to the ventilating system that produces the correct amount of heat and humidity needed for hot yoga to be successful for your body, which is great because most hot yoga classes I tried before getting to Denice simply had a space heater in the class and to me, that was "Death Yoga," not "Hot Yoga." I scheduled a private session with Denice and we immediately hit off. 1 year later, Denice has me back running again, playing basketball with absolutely no pain anywhere in my body when I wake up in the mornings or throughout the day. Denice literally has saved my life and now allowed me to live my life to the fullest and enjoy the things I used to do that at one point simply wasn't possible because of the state my body was in. If you're looking for a great place to workout around great people and a great staff that really, truly cares for each and every individual client they have, FLORIDA POWER YOGA IS WHERE...

I didn't expect to like 'yoga', but I LOVE FPY. I get a great workout and want more which even shocks me to say. I feel & sleep great since starting yoga, and each class is a challenge & I'm constantly learning.
Usually at a gym I go pretty steady for a month or two and then lose interest even in the classes. But at FPY I've been going regularly starting Jan 2021 and only took a break when the COVID pandemic shut things down or when we had big events, but since Jan 2021 I've been going every week except vacations.
There are lots of options for payments (I started with a 10 pack) and they are all very reasonable. The studio is very clean and comfortable, and the staff are amazing. You do your own thing, at your own level and no one judges you.
If you haven't already, I highly suggest GIVE FPY A TRY, it’s not like anything you've...
Read moreFlorida Power Yoga gave us our family back! After being inactive & on the couch for 20 years, I thought there was no hope for me. Overweight, depressed, blood sugar out of control, & zero energy, my doctor said take yoga to de-stress or die. I was terrified. I didn’t think I could do yoga, until I met Denice. She told me to show up, do what I could, & breathe. Before I knew it, I was doing yoga & my family was so proud of me they started coming too. Within 6 months, my blood sugar was perfect for a non diabetic & I have the bloodwork to prove it. A year into yoga I tore my ACL/MCL/& dislocated my knee cap. The doctors said I’d need surgery & be in a wheelchair or use a walker for a year. Nope! 1 week. I only used them for a week & went back to yoga & used yoga to heal my knee. Every obstacle I had was in my mind & every one was overcome. We love the FPY culture. We’ve become family. Anybody, any age, weight or size can do Florida Power yoga. Our family ranges from 6, 21, to 45 years old & love doing yoga together. We now hike 6 miles to waterfalls as a family. Thank you Denice & team. We are forever grateful!...
