I’ve experienced two woodworking classes (cutting board and chair making) here and both were phenomenal. Charlie and Carl are fantastic instructors who take the time to explain the tools and the procedures necessary for quality finished product. If you are looking to try something new, definitely give Lansing Makers Network a try! Also if you make chairs, be sure to bring a big enough vehicle!

Husband and I took a cutting board workshop here and it was really fun! Instructors were knowledgeable, extremely patient and helpful. Looking forward to other classes they have to offer. They also have plenty of specialized equipment for different maker projects.

I'm able to use a lot of tools here I wouldn't otherwise have access to. I've learned a lot and have enjoyed volunteering.

Reserve right to give 5 stars in future. The entirely volunteer based program can take some time to respond to issues with equipment, but there are systems in place to keep these problems to a minimum. There is a wide range of equipment available for use, depending on what equipment you want to use it might take some time to get trained on safe and proper use. Very much like a gym membership for a shop without the predatory membership style. They have created an amazing welcoming and tight knit community. A large amount of thought and effort has been put into ways to facilitate this. The community works around an open online forum that is setup to facilitate the share of information, help, and...
