OUR DEAR & PRECIOUS MOTHER & GRANDMOTHER MS. SHIRLEY MAE DOREST JAGERS, Graduated to Heaven on Wednesday 03/26/2021. We Entrusted her to the Care of the Funeral Director & Manager, Ms. Shannon J. Woods of Baloney Funeral Home at 1905 West Airline Hwy in LaPlace. We did not know Shannon or anything about her. Likewise, Shannon did not know any of our family or anything about us. Truthfully, we had some concerns with who and how our Dear & Precious Mother’s body would be treated & cared for and her Funeral Services would be handled. WE PRAYED 🙏🏼 & TRUSTED GOD THAT HE WOULD PROVIDE OUR DEAR & PRECIOUS MOTHER WITH THE ABSOLUTE BEST PREPARATION & TENDER LOVE & CARE FOR HER HOME GOING CELEBRATION VISITATION & SERVICE!!! OUR GOD IN HEAVEN YHWY HEARD OUR GRIEVING & TEARFUL HEARTFELT PRAYERS & HE ANSWERED THEM THROUGH THE BLESSED, ANOINTED, & PASSIONATE, WORKS OF MS. SHANNON J. WOODS HANDS, HEART, DIRECTION & LEADERSHIP! OUR DEAR & PRECIOUS MOTHER LOOKED A LOT LIKE HERSELF, & SHE LOOKED PEACEFUL! Mom’s body looked good & was positioned properly, her makeup was well done, her hair was combed & styled nicely, and her clothing & jewelry were all put on her correctly! OUR DEAR & PRECIOUS MOTHER & GRANDMOTHER LOOKED ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, JUST LIKE THE ABSOLUTE GORGEOUS QUEEN 👑 THAT SHE WAS LIVING ON EARTH FOR 82 YEARS! OUR FAMILY WAS HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME! WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER & SHARE HOW GORGEOUS OUR DEAR & PRECIOUS MOMMY & GRANNY LOOKED IN HER CASKET! THOSE ARE TRULY PRECIOUS MEMORIES FOR EACH OF US TO HAVE, HOLD, & SHARE IN OUR HEARTS, MINDS, SOULS & SPIRITS THROUGHOUT THE REST OF OUR LIVES! I feel Angel is a scammer. She was not caring at all for the fact that I just lost my mother. Made an appointment to pay for the pickup of my mom’s body from the Coroners then canceled after my hour and half drive saying she had to renew her license instead. I was 15 minutes away so she said just meet me in front of Waffle House and she would collect the money. I met her only because it was such a long drive. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable giving her money at a Waffle House. She then said she had a guy in route with a check she already made out to collect my mom’s body. I told her I’d only pay if we could go to the funeral home. I finally felt guilty enough and paid the $300 at the law office they are connected with by the funeral home. After a week and half I find out from the cornors office that she didn’t pick my mom’s body up and now she REFUSES to give my $300 back after I told her I am going some where else. She said she would mail it at first then said she wanted me to come in to offer her condolences and my refund but I got there 45 mins early and she sat with her back to me with an attitude about me being early then said I can’t get the check unless I sign a paper. I said I’m not signing anything you offered to mail it, so just mail it and left the office without the check. Called later to see if the check was indeed going to be mailed and she HUNG UP ON ME. Left a message to call me back, never did. My husband called her and she told him she will not mail my money back. The money was the coroners fee. Now, I need that money for the other funeral home. They of course are taking care of my mom and said I can pay once I get this refund. But I feel I won’t get the refund. I should have gone with my instincts and known Angel was a scam artist. She never planned on taking care of my mom just wanted my money. DO NOT USE THIS...

My experience with the Baloney Funeral Home was phenomenal. They exceeded my expectations. Ms. Shannon was very knowledgeable about how to assist me in celebrating my mother's life. She guided me through the process step by step and held my hand through a very difficult time. Ms. Shannon and staff were present the day of my mom's services. They made sure everything was beautiful and were readily available to answer questions or concerns....which I had none because she truely went above and beyond. I'm so thankful to her and the Baloney family for helping me make my mom's celebration of life...
