Our cousins brought us here for dinner and what a dream surprise! We had been to to a sad event on this day, so margaritas were in order. We told our family to take us wherever and we were so pleased. They seated us immediately, git our drink order with warm friendly service. We all ordered and our good came out very fast and the portions were super gracious. We actually split the fajitas. The guacamole was delicious all of it made for a wonderful dinner! To top it off, we ordered the flan. Do yourself a favor, get the flan! This restaurant is in a shopping place with plenty of parking for all. They have a beautiful patio that's covered with a calming water fall fountain. The atmosphere is upbeat and festive! The food is quality and very well done. I consider myself a Mexican food snob, I grew up in Southern California with Mexican food being my home cooking and most of the time the average Mexican restaurant is below average or worse. La Carreta is not average but way above the rest! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area you will thank me later once you try it! I'm not sure if the patio is dog friendly because nobody was out there due to the tremendous heat in this area. So if you want to bring your pet you may want to call ahead. What I have learned, always be willing to try a new place no matter what your predetermined idea might be because it may prove you wrong!

Tonight my Aunt and I decided that we were going to give this Restaurant a try. I ordered a Taco salad with redfish as my add in choice. It included cheese, guacamole, pico, shredded lettuce, and sour cream. Oh & did I mention, CHEESE. My order was brought out to me at what it look as to me the perfect Taco Salad, it quickly took a hard turn. O M G! I attempt to eat my meal and I’m overly disappointed bc I’m chewing clumps on cheese. There was barely any lettuce … I continue digging through the largest pile of cheese. It was so much I asked for another plate to remove all the extra, which I will picture below. I tell the waiter and also show him. He agrees and takes my plate away. I offered to pay for the fish bc I did eat that. The manager decide that a $3 discount was the best decision & stated that it’s late the cooks made a mistake. She was combative & was listening to hear & not understand. I ate nothing other than a glob of cheese and Redfish. My first time experience here was just horrible !

9.8.24 came in for the first time around 12:40 P.M. This place looks brand new and everything was clean! The pecky cypress interior is gorgeous. The food is SOOOOOOO good! I hope that this establishment keeps the great ingredients and quality food to sustain such a great reputation. The other La Caretta in LA that I have been to doesn't even match this place...but that's because they all decided to do the "bait-and-switch" where the food started off as quality and within the next year(s) they decided to use vendors that were not quality to cut costs and make more revenue for personal gain.

Our waitress was horrible. We arrived around 2:45 pm. She took our drink orders after 3:00 pm. Ignored us for over an hour!!!! Finally took our food order and when the bill arrived had the nerve to charge us full price as opposed to the lunch price. Her reply was that we ordered AFTER lunch hours. We called for the manager and told them how she ignored us and to check the cameras to verify when we arrived, the few times she came to our table, the time she put in the drink orders and compare that time to when the food order was taken. Finally the bill was corrected but not before they ran the other charge through. Also, while I was talking to the manager, the waitress came over and stared at me, as if I would not inform the manager of her behavior. (I cannot be intimidated and she found that out) Needless to say, all this happened as a result of an incompetent waitress who did not want to provide adequate service to a table of 5...
