The best authentic Mexican restaurant in Lawton. Great and friendly customer service. If they spent some money on upgrading the parking lot and the outside landscaping this restaurant would be the best in all of Lawton.

UPDATE!!! Awesome awesonme improvement! Wow the parking lot looks fantastic. Fresh and clean. The fence is also a huge improvement. Time to make use of the outside patio, and a little bit of landscaping clean up. The entrance lights under the awning entrance are out, that entrance is The portal to an experience it should say you have entered into our heritage and culture we welcome you with open arms. The sign is so tiny and hard to see from the road. This is a prime location in the entrance driving into Lawton onto LEE BLD FROM I44. Great atmosphere. I know It can be the pride and jewel of Lawton in that area. The inside is so authentic to the ethnicity. The music makes the atmosphere so wonderful Some fine tuning could benefit everyone. My friends and I attended Tu Familia on Cinco De Mayo (05/05/21) after hearing that it was delicious!

We sat at an outside table since it was a nice warm day evening. We sat for at least 20 minutes or more without drink orders or menus. Once our drink orders were taken, the drinks, as well as chips, queso, and salsa, were promptly brought out which gave us false hope for speedy service. Our server then took our orders. Our food took nearly 45 minutes to an hour, which was understandable considering the high volume of customers inside. Although while we waited, not one server checked the table. Nor did they check on us after the food was brought to the table. We had to get up and go inside the restaurant a few times for extra tortilla chips, sauce, or drink refills. In addition to the service, the food was not seasoned well and left much to be desired. Things that should have been spicy were bland and mild. A friend's mom always says good things about this place so hubby and I went on his lunch break. We were seated quickly, but the service wasn't up to par. We received our salsa first then chips. Went through all of it and still didn't have anyone come over for drink order. It was quite busy, but it IS lunch time. Two tables were set before us, then 3 other tables right after us. What looked like the manager came into the section and took the orders of 5 or 6 tables, including drink orders. I praise him for this, however, where were all the servers!? We were never asked if we wanted more Chips and salsa or drinks, we had to ask for extra napkins and the line to check out was ridiculously long. On top of that, each customer had to tell the person checking out what they ordered. The food was good but the service was not. There were no apologies also.
