We have furnished many homes with Amish-made furniture in the past decades. This time we decided to try Peaceful Valley and were completely disappointed and we will NOT return! We ordered 2 pieces of furniture back in the very beginning of March. The first piece, although it arrived very late, was perfect. We found this store to be guilty of promising delivery dates (within a 2-week window) and not meeting them. They said "it was an estimate". Well, so is eternity but you need to be accountable at some point! The second piece not only took 13 WEEKS to arrive, but we drove 4 hours round trip (2x-once to order and once to pickup=8 hours total, plus gas AND tolls!) and it was not what we ordered! The finish was wrong and so was the top of the cabinet. We ordered a white base with a Maple top/special Walnut stain. We were sent a white base with heavy black distressing and a Poplar top (pieced together) with who knows what kind of stain. It was nothing like the piece in the showroom from which we based our order (we have photographic proof), and not what was clearly on our sales receipt! Not even an apology from AJ who was so rude to us! 2 men promised to refund our gas money; we left without a penny from them! He wanted us to leave our payment, since we had to pay before we could see it and pick it up, and order us another one. AJ said he could get it in a couple of weeks and deliver it (he never said the words "Free of charge"). Wait...if he can get it in a couple of weeks, why did we just wait 13 weeks for this one, and how do we get a refund if it's made wrong a second time? Why should we wait a total of 6+ months for someone else's mistake? No discount was given, no apology, nothing. AJ made us feel as though all this was our fault and that we were disrupting his day! He didn't want to hear anything we were saying to him! They have lost our business and we do not recommend them after our...
Read moreI purchased 2 beds and a dresser. The gentleman who helped my wife and I had onset dementia. He forgot who I was several times, I filled out the same order form four times, and the entire transaction took 2 hours.
The craftsman ship overall is subpar: wood glue was dripping out of the seams dresser drawer slide brackets were all held in with a single screw ( I had to install several of my own) the bed side rail brackets were bored improperly the bed side rail brackets were not spaced properly causing the side rails to actually sit on the ground while head/foot boards are a quarter inch above the ground the dresser mirror screw mounting positions were off by an entire half inch meaning I had to drill new holes
This was just off the top of my head... I traveled from upstate NY for this furniture. If I hadn't waited 2 months and didn't have to drive 6 hours to get back there with a loaded trailer, I would have...
Read moreI wish I never bought my table. It all started when I had a bag laying on the table and bench. The table soaks up every little thing. It soaked up the dye from the bag. I called and the gentleman told me he read they you can use acetone and it might remove it but to use light strokes. I did that and it only made things worse. He then sent me the paint for it and of course that was noticeable. This table shows finger marks from the pul that soaked in. There is now yellowish spots coming throw differwnt spots of the chairs. I wouldn't mind if I bought this at a cheaper rate but I didn't. I am not sure if they forgot a step and didn't put a protective sealer on it but it's honestly makes me never want to use the table because I'm scared what's going to happen next to it... just very disappointed...I take good care of my furniture but there's no way to take care...
