The door is great but Home Depot messed up. We purchased (or thought we purchased) an Anderson 2000 series full view storm door for the front of our home. Three weeks later, the installer placed the wrong storm door on our home. When this was realized, the same day as install, we contacted the salesman we purchased it from a month earlier at our local store in Lebanon, TN. He was polite but immediately, attempted to shift the blame and said we would have to wait to talk to his manager because the store would be taking a loss replacing the door "for free" (we spent over $500 on this door plus install). Not satisfied with this response, we went to the store...thinking that in person may be a better way to explain the situation. Before talking to the salesman, we looked at the display door we ordered and realized that the sku# the salesman wrote down a month earlier was not the correct sku# for the door we wanted (the sku# with the display was wrong). We also noticed they had sold us the wrong door and the door they sold and gave us was actually more expensive than the one we wanted. When my husband went to talk to the salesman, in person, again, he was told that it was not the store's fault and that the salesman had talked to his manager and she was willing to take $100 off the wrong door if we would just be satisfied (and go away). We were not satisfied and my husband politely rejected the offer. The salesman, again, told my husband we would have to pay the $129 install fee again if the store capitulated and put the correct door on our house. When my husband did not agree, the salesman said we would have to wait and talk to his manager who had "left for the day"...without so much as calling us to apologize for their egregious mistake...even though she obviously knew about it and was willing to blow us off with an unacceptable bribe via a subordinate staff member. The next morning the manager called and spoke with my husband. She did not offer an apology for the store's mistake and, again, attempted to shift the blame to us...before offering the same bribe of $100 off for us to go away. She then said that, because my husband signed off after install, there was nothing she could do and that we would have to pay the install fee again. He told her he didn't pick out the door, his wife did and that they had given us the wrong door because the sku # in the store was wrong on display. We also pointed out that it doesn't make sense to offer $100 which is the amount the install company charges to bring the door back to the store but decline to pay the $129 install fee. He even offered to bring the door back himself if the store would pay for the install, removing that cost for the store. We actually paid more for the door they sold us because the door we wanted is $30 less plus tax. She, again, told us the store would be taking "a loss" fixing their mistake for free. My husband was not satisfied with this seeing as the whole world knows that Home Depot has benefited from the pandemic (net earnings over 16 billion in 2021...an increase of 30% from the prior year...look it up); the manager deflected and told him he would have to wait until she could talk to the store manager which wouldn't be for 3 more days because she was off the next day and she and the store manager "wouldn't cross paths until then". We tried to do the right thing...we contacted the salesman first, then his manager. We went to the store and spoke politely to the salesman, in person, and yet, for 3 days, the wrong door has been on our house. I have contacted corporate and created a case # via their customer service and have not heard anything.
*Update: after calling the store the following day...not satisfied by the manager's dismissal of the problem...we spoke with a "specialty manager" who immediately apologized for the mistake and agreed to replace the door for free. We are currently waiting for install. This was still a very bad experience and may not have been corrected without getting corporate involved via creating a customer service...
Read moreDon’t buy appliances from Home Depot. We have had the worst experience with them. They delivered my dishwasher and proceeded to tell me the connection had some corrosion on the dishwasher water line and I needed to have a plumber fix my pipes/turnoff value (not sure what’s its actually called). They left the dishwasher and at that time we did not know that it would still be sitting in my house for a week and now they say we can’t return it because it’s been in our house too long. But back to first day the delivered it. After calling several plumbers I had a very reliable plumber come out and he practically laughed at what the installers from Home Depot said. He said my pipes were fine. But I had him replace the water turnoff value at a cost of 146.00 because it was my understanding Home Depot installers would not install my dishwasher without that happening. We called to let them know ot was fixed (later the same day) and they said they could not come back without a work order. So we called to set that up abd the earliest they could give us was a week from that day which was not except able at first to us so we ask to speak to a supervisor or manager. She tried but said that was the only time available but she agreed to refund the installation fee plus 100.00 and said it would show on my credit card within a few days. Fast forward to the night before what we thought was delivered date and we had not received any message about a time frame so we began calling to find out the problem. Last night they said to call specific store this morning because they did not have a record of scheduled installation. This morning we are being told they “forgot” to press a button to send work order for today and then they said they could come Tuesday. My son ask to speak to Corporate and while he was on phone with them supposedly Tuesday filled up and next Friday is first day. We ask they just come pick it up and refund total charge and that is when they informed us that Maytag would not let them take it back. And that the original refund (250.00) would not show up on my credit card until washer is installed. This has been a nightmare. I will NEVER purchase appliances from them again. In the past I had purchased items from Loew’s and they will get all my business in the future. I was unable to get my dishwasher from Loew’s his time because it was on backorder until mid July and that is why we went to Hime Depot Tuesday now besides this nightmare looks like it’s going to be July before my dishwasher is installed. So my advise is don’t purchase any appliance from Home Depot especially if you have...
Read moreBUYER BEWARE! I love to write reviews; especially positive ones. Unfortunately, this is not the case at hand today. Approximately 6 weeks ago we purchased this Whirlpool refrigerator from The Home Depot (shipped from Lebanon, TN). They were late delivering the item, but finally got it here. Everything has gone downhill from there...
The delivery crew REFUSED to change the door directions upon delivery; so they opened opposite of where they needed to be. We called the store; they had a completely different company return the call and schedule a service tech to come out (10 days later) and change the door direction.
Next we noticed frost building up in the freezer, while fresh milk, cream and meat were spoiling in the refrigerator. We called The Home Depot for a needed repair. They (once again) had a different company return the call almost a week later, and scheduled a repair technician. He arrived, said he located a problem with the initial installation and corrected it. We cleaned all the frost out of the freezer, spoiled items from the fridge and went about our way.
Not a week later frost starts to form in the freezer (again), and we lost another gallon of cream and milk and more fresh meat, along with fresh vegetables and eggs spoiling because now they are freezing inside the refrigerator. We place another call to the store, and they claim Maytag will have to contact us to take care of the problem and warranty. We explain that we did not purchase said refrigerator or warranty from Maytag, but from The Home Depot. They refused to warranty this, claiming they had to have Maytag contact us. Please note this timeframe was now into the 1st week of December 2021.
We cleaned the frost (again) and have continued our attempts to contact the appliance Manager at The Home Depot (Lebanon, TN) store; each time being assured that she is attentive and will call back. So far she has had two (2) different employees return a call, but she (herself) has not; and there is still NO RESOLUTION.
The posted pictures are from Christmas Eve (12/24/2021). The frost is MEASURABLE y'all, MEASURABLE... To date, both Maytag and The Home Depot have continued to refuse warranty of this (clearly) defective item.
Bad form #Maytag and #TheHomeDepot, bad form. I would give a ZERO-STARS review if it were possible. Instead, as a confirmed local guide on Google, I leave this BUYER BEWARE review. Which I will be cross-posting on The Home Depot and Maytag...
