FRAG's Retro Zone LLC — Local services in Ledyard

My husband, kids, and myself have been coming here since they opened. One of the best things that I love is they were able to clean up my old Gameboy color so it can be used to its full potential again, and they are currently working on my old Pokémon Blue! I've never seen a place where you can get old systems/games worked on so I feel like this is a gem! I love that they have game stations (NES, Atari, GameCube, N64, Simpsons arcade game) that are free to play. It really awesome to have a place people can come together and just relax playing games some of us played when we were kids. It's very nostalgic teaching my son how to pkay GameCube and NES, like I had when I was young. The owners are always there and always say hi and give my son fist bumps. My son has asked to go for the last 3 days because he also loves being there. I hope they are around for a long long time! While not quite weekly this is definitely a routine stop! Whether it is just for the kids to play some old consoles/arcade cabinets, or if I'm here to search for my favorite old games coming in as trades this is an import part of my regular schedule.

I can't wait to join the for their next game night. I have several friends that have had an absolute blast on their Rock Band night! I'm excited to keep trying my kids to take home the gold on their next Mario Kart tournament night!

I was too quick to rate this place after my 1st trip. I thought the only issue was the limited parking space. After visiting this place for a 2nd & 3rd time , i can see that this is not that good of a retro game store. The 1st week of being open, prices were decent. But after returning a few weeks later, i see it was all a facade. Prices went up. Inventory seems to remain almost the same exact items from opening day (other than some Star wars & pokemon toys). And they don't seem to offer much on any trade-ins. Also i know people who sold stuff here & they totally got ripped off. Stay far away from this place unless you like giving...
