I purchased a new motor and had it installed last year. The written quote was $200 less than I was charged when I picked the boat up. When I asked why, the salesman was unavailable. I waiting around for awhile and just paid it and went fishings. The new motor is great and I’m happy to have it. What’s an extra $200 anyway on a $9,000 motor, right.
I recently took the boat in for the 20 hour break-in on the new motor. The first oil change labor is free and I was to pay for the materials . It’s an old 1996 boat and trailer . I had/have a loose bearing in one of the wheels. I asked if they could replace the bearings while they had it and I was told yes. When I picked the boat up, I noticed the bearings had not been replaced. I was however charged $238 (2 hours labor) for inspecting and repacking the bearings. I was told they had been repacked and the seals replaced. When I asked about the new bearings, I was told that I didn’t request that. I was then offered new bearings for an additional $120.
I declined the offer. I may have given them another chance and paid the extra if they would have taken care of it while I was there, or simply offered to make it right if I would left it with them.
My bearing is still loose and still needs replaced. If they inspected, repacked and replaced seals, I’m unsure why I was not charged for any materials. .
I’ve noticed in these reviews that management often responds that they had not been giving a chance to make things right or can’t find the person in their system. So, I did send my concerns in last week and they were ignored. I’m certain the website is working because I inquired about the price of a new sea ark boat the previous week and did received that quote. I suspect it will be explained away saying I did something wrong. Maybe so, but from my experience, I’ve spent and additional $438 for product and service that I did not receive.
I’m all for everyone making money, but I’m still at risk of being stuck on the side of the road.
I hate to fill out a negative review, but it was a negative experience. I’m giving it a two star because I really like the new motor and...
Read moreCame into the store for the first time a week before their customer appreciation event hoping to find some Humminbirds on sale to come back and get. Not very knowledgeable about these in general and the guy I spoke with seemed knowledgeable and to lead me in the right direction. The orginal units I was interested in were not going to be on sale. So I came back anyways and was told these other units that would get me where I wanted to be, and was satisfied I had saved some money and got what I needed. Only later that afternoon to find out I had bought a 1st Generation units which isnt really comparable to the 2nd or 3rd gen. I was able to find a 2nd generation about $300 cheaper per unit in the same size with just a simple google search. Also, was completely unaware I could not return these by any signs, nor was I told. Just feel like I've been ripped one by not understanding what I was looking at and they took advantage of it. Probably my first and last visits there! Kind of a shame too, because I would have spent alot of money with you guys!
Edit: I did inquire on the phone when I called to return the units, that I had found them cheaper elsewhere, but that I wouldnt mind exchanging them for different units, but was just told that all sales are final and an apology was given? I would have been back that afternoon if I could have swapped them! In addition to after opening boxes I found both gimbal mounts for both units missing. I called them again and they are replacing them. I will give them...
Read moreI went to the Louisville boat show this winter and looked at a new blue 520 Ranger. While there I got a quote from the owner of Renegade, based on seeing my boat. I took it down to him and he agreed to the trade-in price from the boat show...which included moving my power poles to the new boat, me keeping my 12' Lowrance, and him installing a new twelve, and keeping my 9" touch, and the 7" already on the boat. I called him the day that I was bringing my boat down to make the deal, and he backed out of the deal. He had written it down on a piece of paper and gave me the figures. He backed out of the deal by changing what he and I had agreed upon, and raised the price $2,000. During the conversation he informed me that he had someone else interested in the boat that was coming that day to look at it.
I would rate my dealings there as a zero if that was an option.
I have bought several boats over the years and have never had an...
