I have been bringing my son to this park his entire life to play or walk the track. As a family we enjoy coming to watch the ducks, geese, squirrel, birds, and occasional other critters scamper around. It is a beautiful area to just sit and unwind providing picnic tables and ample trash cans as well as restrooms. My son is 19 years old now and still enjoys going and walking the track with us. There are nice playground facilities for younger children. I wish they had as nice of equipment when my son was the age to play, but it is wonderful that they have them now. There is a large pond that you can fish in and plenty of parking. The only downsides are it is a difficult place to enjoy when ball games are going on as it is rather full and noisy throughout the summer. The bypass runs alongside a large portion of the park and there is a lot of traffic noise that used to not be there, but it is not unbearable and is still quite an enjoyable place to visit. They keep the grass cut regularly, and trash cans emptied regularly as well. They have a large covered Pavilion with restrooms and picnic tables for parties or gatherings that can be reserved for $50 per day. A few years ago they began a Christmas in the Park light display showcasing local businesses which is nice. My family hopes that they continue to expand it throughout the park so that it is more of an event than the current 2 minutes it takes to drive through and see it. The park in Elizabethtown has a huge Christmas display that is well worth the drive to visit. It normally takes about 20 to 25 minutes to drive through and is free to the public only asking for donations at the end of the exhibit. I would also like to add that they have installed frisbee golf in the park and some new picnic tables. The new Memorial Veterans Park is open as well as new ballpark. The park is a lot noisier than it used to be but it is still a great place to visit especially if you go during the day before ball...
Read moreI love this park! It’s a great place to walk. I like that the trail is paved and half of it is in the woods. You can also bring your dog to walk the trail as well. There’s always some colorful rocks to look for or to hide yourself. The pond attracts geese and ducks to the area that you can watch. You will usually see people fishing during the summer. There are several pavilions you can use for gatherings. Picnic tables in shaded areas. There’s a playground for the kids. Just a great place to get away and...
